Churning is now available to free players

Its not. Just the ability to use a dairy churn to make cream cheese ingredients is not considered it being F2P. Making it F2P means you give it the ability to make something that has nothing to do with the quest. That means if cheeseroll is made F2P then the dairy churn is F2P.

Butter and cream is available to f2p as well. Butter is shown as p2p only in the skill guide, but is f2p at the churn. I've reported the skill guide issue as a bug already.

The cheese wheel is the sole thing they've overseen - it's already acknowledged as not intended and should be fixed in one of the upcoming weeks. I mean - sure the more advanced cream cheeses aren't either, but since free players won't be able to lay their hand on the respective milks (well except chocolate with a bit more of work), it's reasonable enough.

I mean they even made the pot of cream available to f2p, despite it not having any potential use there (I highly doubt we'll be getting to gnome cuisine). Butter at least could be used to open up the more advanced baked potatoes to f2p.

- Free players can now craft and wear lapis lazuli brooches, all silver jewellery and all gold jewellery up to diamond.
- Free players can now enchant opal, emerald, ruby and diamond rings, jade and diamond necklaces, diamond bracelets and red topaz amulets.

I definitely agree that both the creation and use of silver jewellery should be available to free players. I also think that the functions of many types of silver jewellery should be reevaluated, as many of the benefits of the items would not apply on free servers. For example, the ring of metamorphosis would be entirely useless to free players, as use of the ring indirectly requires a minimum of level 80 Hunter and level 75 Agility, the lowest skill levels at which ruby harvests can be caught barehanded.

Another example, the traveller’s necklace, would present a similar problem. The necklace allows the user to teleport to three destinations, only one of which (the Wizards’ Tower) can be reached by free players. This limited range of options would likely negate any practical benefit of ownership of the necklace by free players.

Hey thanks a lot for your input:

The items certainly wouldn't be the first pieces of jewellery which would be entirely useless for free players (see also stuff like the emerald or bracelets and necklaces (the ruby one not per se, but it's deeper woven into p2p).

The ring of metamorphosis is indeed a fairly weird item, as for its requirements to be reasonably used it would be more fitting if it was made from dragonstone, but that would probably increase its upkeep costs to much. I am not sure how it could be made useful for free players, it could be made more useful for lower levelled members by extending the effect to everything caught barehanded (like implings). I certainly wouldn't want to remove the effect as it is fairly unique (considering that several of the silver jewellery effects are just replications of already existing stuff).

Since free players do not have access to the wicked hood the travellers necklace should be a fairly viable option to reach the runespan for them I guess. Otherwise Jagex could do the very same thing they did for the gamer's necklace and introduce a new f2p available teleport at the time it's made f2p.

I support this in its entirety. We, as members, get more than enough exclusive content to justify our subscriptions. The F2P game needs to be fully playable and enjoyable, less like a demo. Otherwise, fewer and fewer new players will stick around long enough to actually consider buying membership. Not to mention the fact that I don't want to have to buy several subscriptions on different accounts just to play the game from a newbie perspective.

EDIT: Apparently I already posted on this thread before. I searched to see if I did already as it seemed familiar but it didn't show up. Either way, I still support this haha

0. Preamble:

1. Skills:

- Allow free players to level p2p only non-elite skills to 20. Make features available to f2p wherever reasonable.
5 is way too low to serve as a good teaser, a somewhat higher cap grants the opportunity to try the skills out properly

i see some issues with this, mainly that a lot of the 5-20 training methods are in members areas so unless they instance that for free players? i dont see how it can work for example desert devil can be found in the Uzer Hunter area, unless you re-purpose the desert north of al kharid.
training on Crimson swift snare catching till level 20 is not right

1.3 Crafting:

- All urns now cover items up to 10, 35, 60, 85 and 99 depending on their tier.
*Remove the crafting level requirement to add a rune to the urn
*Rebalance filling rates and experience reward accordingly to the new top tier item for that urn.
*Smelting urns are upgraded to general purpose smi

big support for all of this, smelting urns are pointless,
why is there crafting requirement to add runes?
