I feel like castle wars should get similar treatment to soul wars. Now that Soul Wars is out and the rewards are superior, Castle Wars is not going to be as popular. That's why I propose that Castle Wars get's a revamp in terms of rewards and also how castle wars tickets are rewarded so that the mini-game wont completely die out.

I like how in Soul Wars, you can get more points depending on what you do in the game. For instance, burying lots of bones or offering lots of stuff to the obby increases the amount of points you get per game. Perhaps do something similar to Castle Wars

In terms of rewards for Castle Wars, add something that would make F2P players want to play the game as F2P Castle Wars is for the most part dead. One suggestion I have for an award is saradomin boots or zamorak boots. The saradomin boots could be blue with white wings attached to the side, zamorak boots are red with black wings attached. Each give stats similar to iron boots but with a +2 prayer bonus, and these boots would be F2P. This would make them the best F2P boots in the game. +60 tickets to buy, dont make them worth more tickets than the halos.

I disagree, and I am a huge advocate of castle wars. First off, F2P castle wars has the huge incentive of ADAMANT boots that actually give +1 str in the form of the blue/yellow boots. The boots are f2p.

As far as rewards for soul wars go, feel free to steal some of the ideas from my cross-minigame suggestion, since it seems that shop will never be implemented even though it passed a poll a long time ago. Feel free to click the link in my signature for further ideas.

I think this one would fit best here, as the others wouldn't fit as well:

Morphing Combat Gear
that consumes other items to upgrade stats/requirements (think stealing creation combat gear that's upgradeable). Right click option to change the corner of the combat triangle for all wielded.
Castle Wars in Theme - A few minor changes to fix cheating
Cross Minigame Reward Shop - Polled December 26th 2013

Feedback for changes:

Yes, please change the two separate lobbies into a single area and randomize who is put on which team; otherwise, clans will overrun the game and make it much less enjoyable for the normal, everyday player, because the chances of losing to organized clans is extremely high.

Again, yes, please remove the delay for healing with the bandages, as it is currently too difficult to out-heal the damage received in most multi-damage circumstances.

Some new rewards I would suggest adding are a few different hybrid armor sets, that are somewhat powerful and defensive in two combat styles, but weak in the third. For example, gear that's great for Ranged and Magic, but weak in melee bonuses; gear that's great for Ranged and Melee, but weak for Magic bonuses; and gear that's great for Magic and Melee, but weak in Ranged bonuses. Perhaps offering a low-level 25 option, medium-level 50 option, and high-level 75 options for each set would be appreciated. Restrict its use to the Soul Wars minigame, if you feel the need.

Another possible reward could be an armor set that offers offensive bonuses, with minimal defensive bonuses, akin to the Inquisitor's set.

The introduction of a new Blessing-type or Ring-slot item would also be nice to see, perhaps a Soul blessing or Soul ring that gives an added 5% to 10% damage and/or accuracy increase for all combat styles.

Yet another reward suggestion would be an item similar to Bolas from RuneScape 2 & 3: a thrown Ranged weapon that will stun players for a short period of time. Similarly, the Sagaie could be re-introduced as well: a Ranged weapon that deals more damage the further away from an opponent one is.

One final suggested reward would be offering an item "Soul shards" that can be mixed with Prayer potions, becoming Prayer renewal potions.

Lastly, I think the Soul wars cape deserves a +10 or even +12 Prayer bonus, not the current +8 Prayer bonus, especially if it's going to require 2500 Zeal points.

For Soul Wars:

- Its hard to notice bones and soul fragments on the ground in a sea of bolts and arrows. Perhaps Nomad can channel your Ava device's undead magic if you show him how it works?

- Barricades seem to be much less useful than in Castle Wars. You have to dedicate your gameplay to running the barricades, sometimes in conjunction with another player in order for them to block anyone and it doesn't generate zeal. If your barricades block anyone and your team doesn't destroy them for getting in the way, then opposing players build up on the other side and it helps them stack/rush the avatar. Setting up barricades anywhere other than near the avatars not practical.

- I'm not sure if other teams can pick up bandages from the open supply area, but if so you will want to remove that bandage table once the delay is removed from bandages.

- As a relatively low level player (85-ish) I only get decent zeal by burying bones and on occasion by delivering some soul fragments. This doesn't help my team's success because controlling the middle area means they can out soul fragment any bones I bury. I'm lucky to get one kill a game despite hitting some decent damage and contributing to kills.

- FYI I was able to imbue a ring of suffering in about two nights of soul wars playing versus what I estimate would take about a week or more at Nightmare Zone (which would cost much more money). I ended up taking my coins out of the coffer at Nightmare Zone because of this. I still like the concept of fighting old quest bosses in Nightmare Zone there is just less reward aspect now.

Hope the feedback helps!

Video games developers often put hidden easter eggs in their game. My suggestion would be to add hidden easter eggs to soul wars. If a player manages to find all hidden easter eggs, (either through one game or through multiple games), they get some sort of special reward from Nomad. Maybe increased zeal, or some sort of new reward.

Suggestions for hidden easter eggs:

- At the two gravesites are beacons on all four sides that are lit and on fire. Using a potion of power on one of these lit beacons turns the flame blue instead of the standard orange.

- Use stomp emote under a dropped soul fragment to get a shattered soul fragment.

- Doing the zombie emote in a graveyard results in a zombie being spawned.

- Saying "awoo" near wolves causes them to say awoo in return.

- Wearing an amulet of ghostspeak inside soul wars allows you to talk to the forgotten souls.

If a player manages to find all 5 hidden easter eggs, they get some sort of special reward from Nomad.

I'm liking the concept of soul wars, but finding some tuning issues between what low-levels can do and what anyone can do when losing heavily.
These issues might be solved with forced random teams and thus (hopefully) less one-sided stomps, but only time can tell.

As a low-level in Soul Wars, you have three things you can do:
1. Collect Fragments
2. Bury Bones
3. Heal Teammates

There are issues with #2 and #3 though.
#2 has the issue of needing the game to be in a state of semi-equilibrium to work. If your team is winning too hard, your Avatar stays at 100% strength and you cant bury bones. If you're losing too hard, you can't even access the graveyards.

#3 Has been fun to do, but ends up feeling useless in the end. While it gives activity, it doesn't reward any Zeal at all. There's also no point in attempting to heal people being ice barraged (unless its only 1 enemy casting), or else you just end up frozen with the victim.
I've been hearing that healing others causes attack delay as if they healed themselves, which if true makes me worried that healing others is more annoying than helpful.

Overall it results in a feeling that being low-level in Soul Wars is a burden most of the time, despite the intentions.

Though if I were to make one suggestion:
Bandages reduce immobilization timers.

Thanks for the changes! The minigame certainly is more fun than its original incarnation. Some ideas for rewards:

- Currently, the soul cape has +8 Prayer and nothing else. The original cape from Nomad's Requiem had +12 Prayer and +8 defensive stats. Of course this cape can't be as powerful as the original since Nomad's Requiem is not a thing. But it should have at least *some* defensive stats I reckon, to make it more desirable. Perhaps +4 in all or something?
- Cosmetic versions of Nomad's staff or cape? I'd suggest his outfit too but that might not be very compatible with the player model...
- An upgrade to the Ectoplasmator, allowing it to be attached to the Bonecrusher to save an inventory slot. This would require ~500ish Zeal I imagine, a charged bonecrusher, and some kind of extra thematic item. Perhaps some bark from hollow trees to affix the item, or something.
- A transmog item to turn you into a ghost could be fun? Or alternatively one of the forgotten souls.
- A cosmetic soul obelisk replica to display in your POH as a (formal) garden centrepiece. I'm sure Nomad would like the souls obtained from all those dungeon massacres...
- Assuming Nomad's Requiem isn't happening for the time being, perhaps release the Battle of Souls music track, purchased with zeal?

Currently, bandages function as they do in Castle Wars: you use whichever one you click on. In the original minigame, clicking any bandage would use whichever comes first in your inventory, etc. That would allow for easier healing.

When you die with soul fragments or bones, you have to wait a minute before you see your own items. Is this intentional, to allow the killer to loot them more easily? If not, it might be nice to allow you to immediately retrieve your items.

On a related note, Nomad would occasionally kill Zimberfizz in the lobby for fun, for him to respawn momentarily. That could be fun to add?

Finally, allow us to add the Soul Wars guide to the POH bookcase! :)
Bizarre Boron Fusswell, scryer extraordinaire. OSRS: POH ideas & RS3 minigames & achievement ideas !

Perhaps you're half right; perhaps we can't win. But we can fight.
