For the Spoils of War counter, would you be able to make it so that it tracks the spoils already purchased and opened? Just a QOL update I thought of since many have already opened 100+ crates.

Best in slot prayer cape? The original was a reward from a grandmaster quest. Not something I'd like to see coming from a minigame.

Another gamble system? With OSRS's track record, the loot table will be overpowered as hell. Only thing that looks decent are the pets. And they're associated with the gamble mechanic.

Overall, I'm not a fan of the idea of "porting" Soul Wars to OSRS.

Why not liven up castlewars? Introduce new maps. Add an "avatar" mode where teams compete in slaying an avatar of zamorak/saradomin manifested on the battlefield. Soul Wars' artificial avatars of creation/destruction always seemed out of place.



Good to see my post from 3 months ago has proven right. Not even out for a day and you've already had to nerf the loot table. Not even out for a day and you're already planning on restricting players from being able to pick their own teams. All because your half-measures to protect your botched take on soul wars were so poorly planned.

Pathetic.

I'm going to be very honest. I was really looking forward to Soul Wars being released but could not be more disappointed. There is nothing fun in it. This mini-game is so unbalanced and is becoming Castle Wars 2.0.

Clans with mostly maxed out players (also lead by Player Moderators, nice fairplay) are taking over this whole mini-game and lower combat accounts (100 and lower combat) cannot enjoy the mini-game in my opinion. Every second you get barraged by maxed out players and have to literally wait until you die to start the whole process again.

If this mini-game was intended for maxed out players only, then why would you allow lower combats to join anyways?

There are several options to solve this problem:

1. Different rooms for maxed out players and lower combat players
2. Stop people who are in clan chats to join the same team: this will not solve this problem completely because other ways of communication will be used (Discord etc.)
3. Stop letting players to choose which portal they will be in. There will only be one portal and this portal will make balanced teams.

I really hope that this problem will be solved in the near future, so that ALL players can enjoy this mini-game. Until then sadly I won't play this mini-game because there is literally no point to play in my case.

20th Anniversary event: great event, I really enjoyed it and nice fashionscape reward. Keep it up!

Regarding soul wars:
1. The game as it is is a rush the obelisk simulator. The majority of games seem to be decided by who caps it 1st.
2. Unbalanced teams, this is in two parts. Part one being the stacking and organizing of friends on one team to give a vastly superior coordination. Part two being the player base of the minigame has not been very friendly to people who have not invested 10s of millions into equipment, making the experience less enjoyable for the lower level and mid level player base (at least those I have seen talking about it)
3. Avatar Health is burst down far too easily.
Potential solutions:
1. Allow players to sacrifice to the obelisk regardless of who has it captured, but allow the team that has it captured to drain avatar resist faster than the team that does not. An example would be if blue team has the obelisk captured, each fragment drains 1% or 2% from the enemy avatar's resistance whereas the red team could still sacrifice to to obelisk but at a rate of .5% or 1% per soul fragment.
2. Part one is being talked about in setting worlds where grouping is allowed vs restricted. Part two is a difficult one to solve. I have seen discussion of two options that have *slight* potential here. The first being some way to balance combat levels on both teams. The second being low mid and high level lobby options, similar to Pest Control. Neither is perfect so suggestions are encouraged regarding this.
3. Avatar Resist is drained to 0 and is burst down quite quick. To allow the opposing team a last ditch evert to defend their avatar, maybe give the avatar a % health increase in proportion to how low the resist goes. To elaborate, say the avatar is 70% resistant. The way this potential solution would present itself is through adding the 30% to flat health, no resistance added, just more of a hit point tank.

Reward Ideas:

1) Slayer Helm Recolor (Avatar Themed) - You can buy an ingredient of either avatar to add to your slayer helm for maybe 300 points, after unlocking the recolor ability for the usual 1k slayer points.

2) Hybrid Armors - These armors are only sold as sets and worn as a set for instance you can't mix a different helm, body, or legs with this set. They would have no offensive bonuses and be purely for defensive bonuses. So one set could specialize in melee and range defence, one in melee and mage defence, and one in range and mage defence. Perhaps they could require 75 defence and maybe a hitpoints level requirement of 75 as well? Depending on how good the bonuses are of course. One set of armor could cost 500 - 700 perhaps?

3) Blighted Vestas Longsword - Ok here me out... I thought it would be neat if you could use the blighted vls in soul wars and perhaps other pvp minigames as well, but of course nothing outside of that (i.e pvm activities). Would function the exact same except it is sold in the shop and can be use in soul wars. Maybe it would cost 500 - 700?

Most of these rewards I proposed will only be usable in soul wars, and I did this on purpose. I thought that it may give more incentive for some players to continue to play soul wars after they have gotten all the rewards they want from the shop. I think rewards like these will keep people more engaged in the activity.

The staff Nomad wields is definitely a piece to be considered. To give it a purpose, I propose:

Ethereal Staff

Stab - 10
Slash - -1
Crush - 40
Magic Accuracy - 10
Range Accuracy - 0

Stab Defence - 2
Slash Defence - 3
Crush Defence - 1
Magic Defence - 10
Range Defence - 0

Strength - 50
Magic Strength - 10%
Range Strength - 0
Prayer Bonus - 4

The Ethereal Staff would be capable of autocasting ancient magic. The staff would not be the best for dps, although it would still provide niche uses.

The cost for the staff would be a good price at 1750 Zeal.

Edit: You call it the Ethereal Staff not because it's in ethereal form, rather it's from the ethereal realm. The shape it takes in this realm does not reflect it's true appearance, and is altered in the transferring from the ethereal realm. Nomad is the kind of character to travel to such a realm.

They should just re-add the hybrid minigame armours like they had in rs2 before eoc was implemented.
