Hi, Dilbert2001.

The examples that you are mentioning here are of players that break the rules. The players we have seen on this thread and countless others around the Forums are individuals who have spent days and sometimes weeks without being able to log into the game, despite having followed all the instructions and help from Community Helpers and others alike. It is unfair and actually moot to make the comparison that you are trying to make with the points I quoted above.

First of all, if users break the Rules, they are not entitled to anything, whatsoever. The only thing that they may be entitled to is the ability to appeal the ban, if available. Nowhere in this thread it was mentioned that people should be reimbursed for breaking the rules because 1) it has never happened and 2) it's simply unnecessary and counterproductive to reward someone for breaking the very same Rules that were written by Jagex.

All in all, if I were a paying member and I'm unable to log into the game for weeks due to this security feature, I am sure it would serve the public for Jagex to be able to try their best to help these players. Within the Community-led sub-forums, we have suggested many approaches to try to fix this issue and users are still unable to play the game as they should.

I am a freeloader getting membership with bonds Isolely with in game gp, and I don't see why is there a matter with subscription. Again, we (meaning both you and me and everybody else) can't speak for other players because we don't know their situations. If members who are bots or hackers or whoever who don't honor Jagex's EULA and how their games are intended to be played get banned, should they get reimbursed for the time they missed? Absolutely not.

I spoke for myself, I encountered this glitch myself many times. I don't know how this glitch gets triggered, it was very random. I share the opinion of people who subscribe in this game as well, for me it was only an annoyance. For subscribers, they are losing membership time unable to login.

Personally speaking, my opinion opposes what Mod Lyon mentioned. In my opinion this is a bug, or else this thread will not even exist.

That is a red herring post, I never said that. I spoke on a general term for a subscriber, never said rulebreaking subscriber. Please don't put words into my mouth.

@Dilbert2001.: I wanted to ask you, if this were happening to you and you were unable to log in for a month, wouldn't you want some kind of reimbursement for the month of membership that you did not enjoy? Would it be fair for you, as a paying member, to lose a month due to some connectivity issues? Remember, these connectivity issues are not related to bans or rule-breaking so comparing the two is unnecessary.

I am not advocating for people to be reimbursed, but taking into account your commentary about banned accounts and rule-breakers, if someone were to be eligible for a reimbursement, it would be someone who has endured this mayhem for over a month. Most of these users are top players who are unable to log into the game for the longest. See: too many log in attempts !!!!!

Do you believe it's fair for these top players (and everyone else, for that matter) to lose out on the possibility to keep improving their overall ranks due to a connectivity issue? Not only that, but these top players have been here for ages and have spent money and time on this game. I'm sure you'd agree that they wouldn't be content with the fact that their access to the game is being continuously restricted due to this security feature.

Correct, you explained it better than I did Mrs Ana. Thanks.

I have done everything suggested in every thread and nothing works. Waiting hours in between attempts, using LAN, resetting router etc etc etc and I have reported it 20 times with ZERO response from JAGEX.

I have played this game for 18 years and NEVER had this happen until recently. The last 4 months it has be getting worse and worse.

Does not matter if I log to Lobby or I log out completely I will get this message over and over when I try to log back on.

We need to know if this is getting fixed or you just don't care about the game anymore.

If you are not going to fix it please let us know and we can all move on to a newer game

^ This player I quoted, she has been a Runescape subscriber for the last 18 straight years.

Do you really think it is fair for her to continue her subscription, if she is being troubled by this glitch? Never assume she is a rule violator, a player like her will not last long if she violated a serious rule.

@Mrs Ana

Again, as I mentioned all along, everybody may have different situations of their own. I am discussing things in the general sense that if somebody who paid for a service but don't hold the end of their EULA, then of course they aren't entitled to reimbursement. I am absolutely not talking about whoever are not playing the games the way Jagex intend them to play as I have no information to tell whatsoever so I can't speak for them.

If somebody is affected for over a month, they have the choice to cancel their subscription of that service, I am not disputing it. However, if they extend the service, it indicates they have no issues with it. So far, I only see a few RSOF users complaining about this too many login attempt issue and not many (if any) indicates they can't login for over a month. Outside these RSOF, there have been almost no reports at all either.

@Louiellen

Of course it is up to that person to continue her subscription, but it is quite obvious to me she has been able to login days ago after her post and she is still subscribed. I can't speak for her obviously but her login and subscription status speak her mind already.

The fact is they have "issues with it", they posted on this thread seeking for heavenly answer from Jagex's towers.

It was a bad call on your end Dilbert to assume that those affected by this is a rule violator who broke the Runescape EULA.

Never make such an assumption, many that are affected are veterans of this game. In this game, if you a violator you will never last long - you'll get banned.

It is a bad call on your end not being able to realize I already clearly stated there are two (2) scenarios: (1) those who don't follow the EULA and get blocked and (2) individual situations such as somebody who didn't log in for over a month but found himself banned for too many login attempts, and in this case they should contact Jagex individually because it is a different issue.

@Dilbert2001: So, basically, you are saying that someone who has played this game for over 18 years should stop their subscription if they cannot log in due to this security feature? Louiellen quoted Season's concern and I have seen this player all my life here on RuneScape. Since she has been having this issue with not being able to log in, she may terminate her subscription and just throw all of her accomplishments out of the window? And if she continues to pay for membership, which is expected given her rank, it means that she's all right with what's going on? I do not think so.

Also, if you have not noticed, OP posted on July 8th, 2020. It's August 20th, 2020. That's already a month and twelve days experiencing this issue. Furthermore, they are countless threads in Community Led Technical Support & Community Led Account Help. As for these issues being reported outside of the Forums, please see below:

It is clear as a day that this is a not a specific individual issue. If it hits you, it hits you - with the lack of technical explanation from Jagex of how this get triggered, we can say it is like a random arrow that hits players. Many of them are veterans of this game.
