So this topic is over a month old but the problem hasn't been fixed?

I was unaware this problem existed till today. After not having played for ~16 hours (on this pc) I get the same message. Login in to alt is no problem. So..... now what?

That workaround is effective, as your phone's data connection gives you a completely different public IP (and of course as your carrier serves as your ISP there as well) compared to your broadband connection. You may enable wifi-tethering on your phone to connect your laptop for Runescaping.

ok WTH .... once again I am getting the message too many log in attempts ... this is getting OLD .... I don't pay for membership and premiums to not be able to play .... I tried tethering to my phone .... same stupid message

Currently happening to me now. Tried to go for a ride and waited 1,5 hours. Didn't work. I submitted a report and I will keep on doing that. I just tried again to log in .... same stupid message .... I sent in a report also ... and will do so every time i try to log in and get this stupid message

funny how I was able to create a new account (that now needs deleted) and play but I can't play on my real account ... and why does my avatar say dec 2019 when I have been playing since 2003??

If you had continuously paid for membership without any interruption from 2003 until now it would have said 2003.
A small interruption of membership payment will result in a higher account-date where you did resume your membership. :)
