I don't use Alt1 myself, and I don't know what else it can do apart from what you've shown me here (what is what I've heard others talk about as well).
I don't mind people using guides (Wiki and such) to solve puzzles that they find too difficult to solve, but this seems to be going a lot further than that. I don't like it that it looks at your screen and basically solves it for you. I certainly wouldn't mind the puzzle solver as it currently is to be a bannable offence. (The rest of Alt1 I have no opinion on (yet).)
Maybe if you would need to put in the puzzle manually in the solver, which then shows you a possible solution, I *might* allow that. (That's similar to the strategy for solving the tile-flip puzzle in Dungeoneering, https://runescape.wiki/w/Dungeoneering/Puzzles#Flip_tiles.)

Anything that overlays a game, no matter what game it is, no matter what the overlay, no matter what function the overlay does, is a cheat.
If I were playing a FPS and used an overlay which told me where to shoot so that my bullet and enemy meet at the same time, it's a cheat.
If I were playing a PvP worldbuilder and used an overlay to tell me where to build walls, it's a cheat.
So why, when playing a MMPORG, can I get away with using an overlay which tells me exactly how to solve puzzles which are intentionally time consuming?
Is the overlay accessible to all players? No. If it were, there'd be a direct link for downloading it from the RS website. As there is not, and we are told never to trust any link outside the RS website, how can we know we're getting the correct software and not a dodgy copy which will steal our log in credentials? It would also have to be accessible to mobile players, who also miss out on the mechanics of the auto-solver. This makes the solver

As the decision process is undertaken by a computer and not a human, it is the definition of a bot. As bots are against the rules of Runescape, i.e.
I think partially the issue is the puzzles themselves, as a puzzles entertainment value is significantly higher the first time it is solved.
The ones in the cluescrolls are completed so many times they just become irritating rather than an enjoyable distraction. Understandably people want to streamline the process of completing them.
That said this 3rd party software does very much look like cheating, and it’ll be interesting to see how Jagex handles it.

@SlR,
Could you check your lists, you've mentioned some people who haven't posted on this thread. It's a bit misleading, so please remove those that haven't voted.
If they've mentioned it elsewhere please provide links.
Thanks.
Who's the cat that won't cop out when there's danger all about?
Hi Rooh, OK no problem. I'm just going off those that were clearly for/against in our original discussion thread on General. Quick find code: 14-15-894-66225030
I'll remove the names and update with * (pending) and include a link to the old thread.
Hey Tuffty, welcome to the new thread lol, good to see you both here
