HLF deserves its lack of J Mod contact tbh lol.

We here may complain a lot possibly sometimes overstep the mark but at least we are honestly trying to improve things instead of just 24/7 attempting to troll people, which is basically what the HLF is.

I heard stories of how once upon a time HLF was a place of interaction and industry, just looks like spam central to me now.

Well yea, but I'd argue it's a bit of a catch 22 - the HLF descended into such a cesspit of spam because of a combination of little to no moderation and very little contact with Jagex in terms of how content affects high level players.

As a result, it doesn't really serve its original purpose of "high level players have deep insights into gameplay because they spend a lot of time doing it, and can resultantly give better quality feedback" as there's the feeling (whether accurate or not) that the feedback offered isn't even looked at.

If you leave a forum in a situation where it doesn't really serve a purpose, and has far less moderation that surrounding forums (and a much more relaxed atmosphere, e.g. no censor), you can't really be surprised if it turns into a den of spam, especially if a large percentage of its user base are either teenagers or in their early 20s (read: unlikely to have had much experience with responsibility).

Maybe Jagex should poll how many people (not just Clan Leaders) stay because of their clan.

Clans don't exist because of the CLF - we had clans before we had RS2, let alone updates like chat channels (and later the whole clan system).

Thing is HLF does have good insight youre right, theres good quality feedback on there albeit probably not expressed in the right way but its buried under a mountain of spam and trolling.

Yea, of course - don't get me wrong, the HLF is still full of players who've invested large amounts of time in RS and know far more about it than the casual RGU lurker.

It's a great place to go when there's a new update (e.g. the Ripper demons) for strategies on how to kill them, or for organising boss masses to get pets for IFB/etc. - it just shouldn't really surprise anyone that it's so spam-filled, as the moderation is close to non-existent.

The HLF does have some uses but it is difficult in some ways also. Not like the CLF at all ;) Mod MattHe | Former Community Manager, now in Events & occasional Lore Monkey

Your views do not represent anyone's but your own. There are a bunch of unhappy clan leaders in this forum, but they do not claim their views are anyone else's.

I do not claim my views are anyone else's but this thread was not made blindly.. Using observation and reading things posted on here IE 2016 and Clans. It is obvious how we are upset about the constant neglect. This also has nothing to do with Matthe or Maz.

The thing about claiming everyone's views fit with yours was down to your use of "we." I guess you were just using it for emphasis.

The Clan Leader Forum is a place for leaders of experienced clans to have direct contact with the Community Management team who support RuneScape3.

Sorry, I guess this is down to how long I've been here as this was updated when Matthe took charge. Being part of the CLF has these perks, but even without direct contact I'm confident the CLF would continue.

Can't tell if this is a compliment or thinly veiled sarcasm haha :D

I know we're not the easiest bunch to work/chat with either.

I don't think anyone would argue the HLF isn't difficult in some ways. :P

I definitely understand the frustrations that can come out of the current climate surrounding clans and updates, and I have struggled with them myself here and there. But it's important that we understand that, though more attention and updates would be nice and helpful, there may be other areas of focus that hold higher priority for RuneScape as a whole.

This doesn't mean that we are being neglected, IMO. I still have faith that the time for our big updates will come. This relatively small issue has been exacerbated by a lack of communication, and that's really no one's singular fault. They tell us what they can and it should be enough for us. We have no right to demand more than we are owed and a growing sense of entitlement among the CLFs certainly doesn't help the situation.

I am really sorry to hear that your clan is struggling. That's never a good thing to happen. But I'd like to pass on a bit of advice that was given to me by someone more mature than I am - fundamentally, RS is an amazing game in its own right. Nothing is ever going to be perfect for all of us. Enjoy the game for what it is and the enjoyment we receive from it.

I hope you can find a way to hold your clan together through bonds of friendship or companionship. After all, these kinds of relationships we build with each other is, in my opinion, what clans are all about. Promises of future updates or fun new tools are a great thing to look forward to, but we cannot rely on them as clan-saving events.

As previously stated by many, crap happens. Things come up and Jagex, as a business, needs to make hard choices about what to use their resources on as they are certainly not unlimited. And we should understand that.

But no, I do not believe there will ever come a time to throw in the towel. If you are giving up then that's entirely on you, but Jagex is certainly not giving up on us. If they were, we wouldn't have two amazing JMods who take time out of their day to assist and support us in every way that they are able.

This is a significant mis-characterization. Your thread has had multiple answers from Mod Maz previously, including detail about what is possible, what isn't possible and what data is available so as to why it is how it is. A single further question was not replied is not "neglecting us completely".

Yes my thread has had multiple answers and detail about what is possible, but then ignoring further questions is neglect.

It is like saying I go into McDonalds, for example, and I ask the worker for a Creme Egg McFlurry, They reply with "I'm sorry we don't have those available atm, we do have regular Dairy Milk though.". Dairy milk is not what I want so I then go on to ask "Do you have an Aero McFlurry instead?". The worker then just stares at me, doesn't respond and just walks off. Is that acceptable? No.

As for the Neglecting us completely, it is not just my thread. There have been a lot of other people's threads with ideas that have a lot of support that have been presented to you guys and have also been completely neglected.
