There's plenty of documentation on the internet about race conditions, it's a common thing in distributed computer programming. Think of airline booking, and airplane with only one seat left, and two travel agents, both booking that seat for a different customer, and how to handle that when they're all several thousand miles apart ;-) There are multiple ways of approaching a solution. The way that our citadel data system works is to only have the data accessible on one world at a time.

As for "where there's a will there's a way" it's more like, where there's time and resources there's a way. For me, as a content developer, I can only use the tools that I'm provided, I don't have the access (or knowledge) to write new ones - only engine devs can do that and they're just a leeeetle busy at the moment making the entire game work in HTML5 - as well as many other jobs!

I could of course make my life easy and just lie to you guys and say that yes I'll get it all fixed tomorrow, or simply just stop posting here but that's not what I'm here for and isn't productive. As you've seen from my previous posts on the forum and releases, I like to keep you guys informed as to what I can and can not do in an honest fashion - and where I have some time, implement quick fixes. This, I will continue to do - for as long as you guys & girls want me to (or until TPTB say otherwise). :)

Hi
Ceecs
, thanks for the posts :)

Keeping in mind that summoning avatars outside of the citadel would be bevy of technical complications--

Not having to go to the clan encampment, world hop, lose chat, or not be able to use a familiar is an important one, since it would have so many repercussions for at least my clan.

As a clan representative, I convert my clan's feelings on summoning avatars into constructive feedback and suggestions. The purpose of CLF is to not only improve the QoL for individual clans, and as such clans overall, but also for jmods to receive feedback on clans, and consequently Runescape and the business of/appeal toward Jagex as a whole.

So, my job isn't to to be technologically reasonable; my job is to convince Maz and Matthe and any other developers to view the things I suggest as worth pursuing. In this case, I strongly believe that being able to summon avatars more remotely, not lose chat doing so, nor at the opportunity cost of a summoning familiar would be very very worthwhile.

Also, I was wondering--we have the ability to join instances from any world, for example every world has a clan encampment south of Falador, from which you can teleport to your citadel, and the same with Cabbage Facepunch Bonanza instances, and Burthorpe Games Room instances.

Could we similarily instance at the click of a button on a banner or clan interface? But maybe your character is put on pause/in limbo, so your character is frozen in the world you're currently in (and you can't chat or receive new messages, but as soon as you return everything updates). And since you're technically in another world, on a friends or clan list it'd say you're in a citadel world but your online status would be off to preclude people trying to pm you during limbo.

This would address losing clan chat/explanations/updates or PvM spots, pet overrides (Chronicle, 5% bonus) would remove the cost of having summoning familiars out.

Hi guys :) I have a quick question. My apologies if this isn't the right place for it.

I have lead a clan for a while now (with a break in between) and have hosted a monthly clan raffle for the most of that time which requires purchase of at least 1 ticket to enter (50k each). I have had no problems with it and it is even on my clan's forum thread in plain sight of all RuneScape Mods. Today I got a complaint from one of my clan members that the raffles I have been hosting (which is something almost everyone takes part in and enjoys) are against RuneScape's rules. I heard that there was a window for optional clan activities but haven't really looked into it. I just wanted to know if clan raffles are for sure against the rules or not.

Thanks :)

Many have tried this and what not is possible for them is simple not possible... I don't want to discourage you of course... So Good Luck on convince them.

Not right place I think but I'll answer.

Running games of chance are against the rules, but if the participants can't make a loss I think it is allowed? And I doubt any actions will be taken against this.

I appreciate the posts on here, but please bear in mind this thread's purpose is pretty much to just store feedback left by the clan JMods. When it comes to discussion of ideas or feedback, it's much more effective to create a separate thread for the topic since it becomes more visible to the CLF as a whole (including the JMods) without getting lost in the pages of this thread. That makes it easier to follow and contribute to the discussion.

@LucaEclipse - some posts from JMods on the topic can be found here btw

On linking OSRS and RS3 clan chats:

To clarify, I mean the ability to chat cross game, not necessarily membership of clan cross game.

I am currently gathering feedback from the OSRS community about what they would like to see in a clan system, yes.

Will we connect it to RS3? That remains to be seen. There is certainly a fair chunk of people who would like to see their divided communities once again able to interact, but there is also another chunk of people who want to keep it totally separate.

No decision has been made at this point.

Add a clan boss kill counter:

It would be very difficult. The data for the Clan Cup is very difficult to get and requires immense amounts of hand moderation.

Clan Hiscores including things like boss kills are on the wishlist for clans but are unlikely to be developed currently.

I think it is a well wanted feature. Therefore it is worth the time.

Well a feature may be desirable there are lots of considerations we have to make dev wise - this would not be a simple feature to implement and would require considerable resource from a team currently in very high demand. As I said it is on the Clan wishlist but I think it is unlikely to be developed in the foreseeable future.
