Allow F2P clans to have citadels - perhaps without the ability to use plots though:

This may have been suggested before; but I'd like to bring it up. We have a ranking system in our clan that ranks members by total activity points - obviously, admin is quite later on in the life cycle.

Why is the 'Admin' rank the lowest possible one for Avatar Warden? It would be so much easier for us if we could just assign Avatar Warden to anyone, provided they had the job.

This has been asked multiple times, but unfortunately the coding doesn't allow for Avatar Warden to be assigned to any ranks below Admin, and it doesn't seem like that would be possible any time soon. The spaghetti code that makes up Citadels and the Clan System is very complicated, which is why clan updates don't come around very often. :(

Currently the engine only supports admin+ being able to write to clan data.

Therefore an avatar warden must be admin+ as it needs to store it's data somewhere on the clan.

With this restriction in place, it doesn't matter how much code I produce, I can't remove that caveat.

Changing to a checkbox rather than a rank may well be a possibility in the future (though I can't guarantee that as I haven't looked at that code for a while).

I quite enjoy it personally as it is a silly touch point every so often and without a "Jmod visited this section" highlight built into the forums it does remind you we do visit, but I would be happy to consider polling the CLF as to whether they want it to continue and allow a simple majority to set the policy. -
