5(1.02)^9 = 5.98

This price is rising way faster than inflation. I'm sure if jmods read this they might say something along the lines of "the price is rising because runescape has hired more staff and devoted more recourses to provide an improved service over the years." However, we are playing osrs with a small, economical dev team and the old graphics and game mechanics. This price increase gives even more reason to separate rs3 and osrs membership. Otherwise, more people might hop off this train than expected.

Hey, i have an active subscription, if i don't cancel it, will it remain the same price as it is today? Or will i have to pay the extra fee?

Same unless you stop paying for over 2 weeks

I'm with everyone else who has said "Why are we paying more right when we are in the midst of serious server issues?" Also, like most other OSRS players, we mostly have university/college responsibilities, meaning we can't keep up with paying every month.

And also, other large gaming companies do the whole "If this one game is not successful, we won't make/release this other game that fans have been waiting for for forever." And it's the worst kind of ********. We should have the ability to pay for the games we wish to support, not the ones we don't (separate subscriptions). It's not like you're raking in a whole slew of other players out there like all the high-quality F2P mmos out there, so I don't know who you think you are to do this to us.

Look, I started playing OSRS again because I was almost literally dying in the hospital a few months ago. The nostalgia of it helped me forget the excruciating pain and overwhelming helplessness I felt that would make me unable to sleep every night. Having to keep up with my hospital bills, medications, and now a price hike of the one thing that has helped me not spiral into a fatal depression is just too much. Please, either make a permanent F2P for the sake of people like me (or some kind of reward bracket for people who reach a certain amount of playtime or level threshold on OSRS to have permanent OSRS F2P access to just the OSRS F2P worlds when they can't pay) or make separate subscriptions so we can just pay to support the game we want to support. I'd get down on my knees and beg but standing up is kind of an issue for me since I lost more than half the muscle mass in my body due to me being bedridden from pain still.

So you want us to pay more when you guys can't even fix the world DC's? Constantly getting Fire Cape's and Torso's back because you guys can't move your servers. You want us to pay extra money to OSRS that has about 5% of Jagex working for it. It's not hard to code the drop changes from monsters...It's coding, everyone change the ID's around within 30 seconds...So if you think that's a big update that needs more money to do, you're completely wrong. You have RS3, which is a Rip off version of WOW, and you can't make it so membership is different for RS3 and OSRS. Whether you guys put it in ONE POT or 10000 pots, that's not our problem. Why would i purchase an active subscription for RS3 and OSRS when OSRS is the only thing that i play? Just because you guys screwed up the community when your pity RS3 came out and you lost about 95% of the community, let us make it up with our payments..Sounds right.

Good bye 10 years of RS. h3h3h3h3h3h3

LMAO, why am I not surprised?

Original message details are unavailable.

How much will the new price be?

The new price will be announced in early 2015, before the price rise itself happens. While the exact amount isn't finalised yet, it will remain competitive when compared to other MMOs.

Hopefully competitive with those free MMO's... Wait, who am I kidding? $15/month incoming

Free MMOs use serious microtransaction to pay the bill. .
So does RS (on top of charging you monthly, as well), what's your point?

RS3s has mtx but its not even close to the crap ftp games have..they sell 3x xp scrollls and other op stuff.

Osrs has none of that however.
LOL ?

What do you think RS3 does?

They sold the best method of training agility
They sell 2x xp
They sell xp outright
They sell gold
They sell supplies
They sell gear
They sell rares with an always-increasing in value

I could go on and on, the only difference is that the cost of items you get from RS3 can vary seeing as it's random and has no set price... Which when you look at it in a certain way is actually worse than those FREE games because you could be spending upwards of thousands of pounds for just one item you could get from said free games for a dollar or two.

please tell me where I can buy xp gear sups and rares in rs3 thx.

You will need to be logged in buy the membership. What I do with my family is to keep their pocket money written down in a book and when they want to buy something (like OS membership) I can pay for it on a card. Perhaps something similar might help with your family?

Hmmm.. Thanks for an answer :) Of course it's something that could work, but I think it is more likely they would give me prepaid membership.. I don't know what negative consequences this would have for you other than that people often forget to turn off auto-subscription (Realistically). It might be a good idea to forward the idea to the right people, because it shouldn't take long time - and might even make you gain profit.. If you manage to give us this option within a few weeks I'm certain that alot of kids wish 12 months membership, which they will never even use once they get it! :D Be a little dirty! (non-******)
Taking all donations for free :3 ^_^

You won't have to pay extra unless it runs out for more than 14 days...

So if I let my members run out after 15 days then id have to pay the new rate.

A price increase might not seem like a lot to some people, but the reason a lot of people play this game is because its cheap. Our community has already shrunk to a point that is scary low, but enforcing price increases like this will only speed up the process of our community dying. The amount of people that will leave as a result of something like this will negate any profit that would be made. Trying to solve a lack in profits due to a shrinking of the community by increasing prices is pointless and a product of Jagex once again displaying how money is valued over players. You should be investing into getting more people into playing the game like having 07 partner with steam so that for once since 2008 our population can actually grow, not speeding up its demise. Look I love new content just like anyone else, but I think that myself and most of the community would agree that re-purposing the budget of Jagex to keeping both the players and company in mind would lead to much better results rather than blatant displays of which you really think is more important. My faith in eoc is completely lost and the introductions of things such as in game purchases, and especially bonds were just nails in the coffin that ruined runescape as i know it. I see that Jagex has the potential to do the right thing, 07 being its prime example so please in the future remember that we the players are what support you as a business and our interests should coincide with yours. FIN.
