So first I'd like to voice my opinion about Runescape. I've been playing this game for 8 years and have enjoyed playing it until the release of EoC. Basically a poor rip-off version of World of Warcraft.

-RS2 and RS3 should have been separate just like when they have RS Classic and RS 2, Jagex allowed players to decide to transfer or not. Instead of forcing all players to convert to RS3.

-I do not understand why Jagex automatically shuts down the idea of having different subscriptions of membership for old school and Rs3. You have the ability to see who plays on RS3 and old school servers and can see the difference and the financial impact of those strictly playing RS3 or old school. You can probably find a certain and fair price for people wishing to play both games. However, forcing people to buy RS3 membership in order to play old school is ridiculous. That's like going to a restaurant and trying to order a single order of French fries but you have to pay the full price of the meal.

-Now to the price of the subscription, I would gladly pay more money for a subscription if that money would say - be used to obtain better servers, if the extra money is going into your pockets then you obviously don't understand the philosophy of my own businesses 'People over profits'.

-I find it grossly hilarious that you are considering increased subscription costs even after the serious amounts of server attacks and disconnects. Considering fixing World 1. That place is littered with scammers. Fix the current problems then you should consider moving forward, example: build a strong foundation then build up.

-Jagex, I do not know if you ever consulted an economic advisor but I would highly encourage it. The price of runescape membership can be only so high until people stop buying. It's supply and demand 101. In all cases there will be die-hard followers who will pay, the middle (the bulk of people) will stop buying and with the increased price could deter new players from playing. Example: New Iphone - always will have people to have the latest and greatest, people who are content with the one they have, or people who will not pay for it.

-History repeats itself and I hope you can learn from what happened with Rs2 to Rs3. I would hope you have company records of sales and players' data. You can see a steep decline in sales after the EoC update.

-You state that the increased subscription cost helps the servers and in-game updates. Which I hope some of the funds would be used to get better servers. Guild wars 2 have NO subscription cost and plays great. You just pay the one time cost to get the game and for all people who is considering another game I highly recommend it. (I've been playing guild wars 2 for 2 years now)

-Now, after the long drawn opinions. I do like how you are posting content and then asking for feedback from the oldschool community. Now that is one of the great things you do to include polling. Which in my opinion is a great step forward.

-Being interactive with players via in-game, twitch, forums. It helps so that both jagex and the players can mutually achieve both goals. Have player-wanted content and jagex to come out with said content.

When you ( jagex ) say that the price will be increased does this go across the board? For example pre-paid game cards are currently 1month at $10 Usd so will these be increased too? I surely hope not

Very disappointing to hear this since i dont play Rs 3 but have to buy a card for 10 dollars to play old school

well it's not membership cards any more, it's just $10 or *20 or whatever worth isn't it?

in which case you'll just get less days for your $, but the price will stay the "same"

Separate memberships please!

$5.95 - Old School. (Not eligible for discounts)

I want to pay for only 1 game and I'm sure a lot of other people do too. I can't even get my friends to play Old School again at the current price.

Do exactly what you did for Funorb. Offer a subscription at a reduced rate for just that service.

Do you know what is really sad in all of this? It has yet to be mentioned or talked about by a single jagex mod in the main rs3 forum post on this. The other sad thing is that osrs is a great game. Its bad decisions at the top that ruined rs2 and made it into rs3 and now it seems osrs is next on their hit list with the bad decision of increasing our membership fees rather then cutting the umbilical and let osrs be its own separate game already. So while the rs3 ship is sinking they are forcing our ship down with them.

Ok this is a problem for me and other players who don't keep their membership reoccurring every month. I don't have the time or money necessarily to buy membership every month as I have university to worry about and only play during long breaks and summer. Obviously I won't be able to benefit from the 2 week grace period of renewing membership. I only play osrs and I think it's a little ridiculous that they are raising the membership price for the same product 7 years ago. Honestly Jagex you should just split the two membership fees and raise only a slight margin on RS3 (8.95) and for osrs (6.95) since the original membership fee for Runescape at the 2007 era was 5 dollars. These are the prices I would like them to be but looking back that's probably not a financially viable plan (it actually averages out to the current price 7.95, lol) for Jagex, but whatever the price you make them, just split the two services so at least the players will be satisfied with paying for what they actually want to play.
