Meh.

At this point was really so bad about having "buyable xp"?

Like you said its beyond the point of no return so might as well leave as is.

Hunter xp rates were nerfed after 4 years after they confirmed those xp rates were killing the game.

It's already been confirmed osrs is the more profitable game. They buy memberships and bonds which is the majority of the revenue and mxt revenue went down from 2017 to 2018. If were going to talk about profits though the NBA is more profitable then the NFL but more people based on the ratings watch the NFL

OSRS already been "confirmed" as the more "profitable" game? Confirmed by what?

Confirmed by then nosediving "80k OSRS "playerbase" now or about half it had a few months ago?

Confirmed by the rising RS3 "playerbase" since 4 months ago in the face of the nosediving OSRS "playerbase"?

Confirmed by the substantial and sustainable TH and Runecoins sales of over £24 mil last year, solely exist only in RS3?

Confirmed by the 180% u-turn where OSRS is forced to embrace NEW SCHOOL ideas of live events and e-sports like DMM and pseduo gambling of the latest trending Battle Royale in LMS where players are going to be wagering gp they can instantly get from selling the Bond MTX hoping to win more gp in game?

It states that osrs mobile brought in more players thus why they had a record breaking financial year. It's not crazy to think osrs makes more money then rs3.

Lmao, runepass was canceled due to being a disappointment but little did Jagex know, they could've milked the hell out of whales like EA are doing right now!

https://www.ea.com/en-gb/games/apex-legends/news/iron-crown-collection-event-august-2019

It's gonna cost an absurd $170 AND time gate? It's a 2 for 1 special!

Very often the same product works differently for different games.

Remember Jagex's RunePass? Did they sell it for $170 each? I am sure if players were happy to buy RunePass for $170 each Jagex would still be selling it.

Now you have to look into what the $170 Apex players are paying for their Pass comparing to Jagex's RunePass. Jagex did not spend time developing content for RunePass but Apex (and Fortnite too) developed content for their Season Passes. Seriously, who would pay Jagex $170 only to bust their tails off doing the same old xp grinding for 2 weeks?

You also have to look into what different communities want. If they don't want Season Pass, then they won't buy it and the company has to scratch it. For instance, CoD is also removing Season Pass in their upcoming Modern Warfare:

https://www.gamesindustry.biz/articles/2019-05-31-call-of-duty-modern-warfare-eliminates-season-pass-so-how-will-it-fund-dlc

Can't be so sure until its been tried! Jagex never tried doing Runepass WITHOUT treasure hunter. Players don't really want to put in effort to earn their items when they can just hold down spacebar for it!

Why would you be okay with keeping cosmetic MTX? If Jagex started selling a cape cosmetic on TH that was similar to (trim) comp cape but slightly better, would that be okay to have because "it's just cosmetic"? I don't think so, cosmetic MTX also damages the game and is unacceptable in a P2P game, because it devalues existing non-MTX cosmetics or it won't sell.

i never said to sell cosmetic trim comp though or other cosmetic varients

the cosmetics they sell now that only available through mtx will be fine.

Uh-huh, because you don't care about them? I did chose the comp cape in particular because I imagined you'd not like it being devalued by MTX cosmetics, to demonstrate that just like you wouldn't like it happening, there are people in the present who don't like the current MTX cosmetics devaluing non-MTX cosmetics, e.g. the drakes devaluing the summoning dragon pets. So it'd be pretty selfish to accept MTX that doesn't concern you, while being fine with that which concerns others, not to mention that if you let something like that pass, sooner or later you too would become a target of that kind of monetization, e.g. with a more lucrative cape than comp cape sold as MTX.

The actual statement was the record breaking membership was mainly a result of their promotion with Twitch and OSRS mobile, not just OSRS Mobile. Yes, you are absolutely crazy to think OSRS makes more money than RS3.

And don't forget membership revenue was shared between RS3 and OSRS since the same membership cover both games. Besides, OSRS is nosediving in "playerbase" the current year. The last reporting period ended more than 6 months ago. There is only RS3 Mobile coming up this year but nothing from the OSRS end except a graph showing nosediving "playerbase". Perhaps OSRS is nosediving becasee of not enough MTX. :D

Only Jagex can tell about their Runepass. They don't re-offer it means they don't think it works. Only Blizzards can tell about CoD Season Pass. They are cancelling it obviously because they don't think it will work in their next CoD release.

Why don't Jagex put RunePass in OSRS and remove membership there? :D
