Hmm, I have a pretty good idea at what's keeping you busy on linkify over working on other things like notifications, indy ^.^

As you know most of my updates are kept quiet until release (not a fan of content spoilers, I like surprises). But I suppose anyone who has used linkify for a while and/or followed this thread, should have some clues about future content. I guess we'll see in due time if you're right :)

lol indy! You've come a long way since 2013 Linkify. You've also gotten better at photoshop! :p

I was just dropping in to leave you some coffee, but it may be unhealthy to consume any more x)

It's cool, I'm sipping on a cuppa right now. All that avatar editing has helped my photoshop skills, but tbh I just slap it together. If it works then great, if not I deleted and give up :)

I just noticed your display name has changed, I mostly recognise people from their avatars so I'm not sure if it's recent change or I'm just slow to notice :)

It's very recent :p but it won't be permanent, I don't like it very much :c bad late-night decisions

Edit: Now's a good time to add, I'm jealous of your (mostly) self-taught photoshop skills and even moreso, your coding. I would love to be able to learn these things, but I don't know where I would find the time anymore :'(

but one day...

one day..

Hey Indy and the Linkify family :)

Sorry I haven't been active on the forums recently, real life has been keeping me occupied for a while now so I've been limiting my RS time to the occasional post-200m dungeon - I still find it incredibly satisfying ^_^ .

I think the issue in that second image is the submit button being disabled - this is because the poll is untitled which I definitely admit isn't clear enough for a new user.

Possible solutions to improve the situation are (one or more of):
- Make the input box stand out more so that it's obvious it needs to be filled in
- Make the submit button always clickable and perform a responsive validation check
- Make floating pointy thingies of some sort that indicate which fields are required, only for new users
- Add an information page that includes instructions that explain what a valid form requires
- Make a forum thread for HLF Polls that includes information as above and a FAQ section
- Make no title an option

A solution that just involves a CSS modification or other small changes is most what I'm most likely to do since it'll take the least time. I know strawpoll has been more widely used in HLF despite how nicely Indy has helped me integrate HLF Polls - I think it comes down to me rethinking the interaction design to make it more intuitive. I'll let you know in advance if I do decide to put time into that though :P

Although I'd like to help make the polls on forums fit nicely and themed, I'm going to say that I'm happy for Indy to look into embedding strawpolls to improve the experience of polls in HLF :)

If anyone wants to talk about HLF Polls, let me know in reply to this post :) - if there are many posts then I may make a thread.

I hope everyone's enjoying themselves (and enjoying their coffee!) :)

Hiya Blasty :)

Hope all is well for you!

I'm just going to outline/mention a couple of things.

Firstly I am very happy to dedicate a post on page one for your polls. Any info you want I can post there. Just something for you to keep in mind.

As far your interface goes, I love it! Every time I use it I think sweet that's clever. Particularly when it comes to adding/removing and editing, it's really intuitive. Plus being able to mix and match different question options (radio, check, slider) is really neat.

In regard to strawpoll, I can't embed (from a plain text url) even if I wanted to. The dimensions vary greatly from poll to poll and the sandbox nature of iframes means I can't even read the height attribute.

People would have post the embed code, and that would be pretty ugly for anyone not using linkify. So strawpoll embedding is not going to happen. Besides that, they are inferior to yours and I don't believe in going backwards.

If were to suggest any changes it would be an * required field indicator. But even without, it's fine imo.

That's about all I can think of right now. Just wanted to let you know that I'm really happy with your polls and just recently I have seen them used a bit more frequently. Quite often the number of votes displayed on the polls shows a decent amount of hits too :)
