I just recently made a thread using polls and the only reason I used strawpoll over linkify polls was because I was in a rush, and I knew I could write up the strawpoll in less than a minute.

My familiarity with Linkify polls is sadly lacking. Maybe the only other thing I was subconsciously thinking was the size of the polls. Straw poll is just a short url. Linkify polls takes up a big part of the screen and I didn't want that to take away from my message in the thread.

Just some friendly feedback from an average user

I come bearing a suggestion! I remember a while back it was suggested if you could include the Voice of Seren somehow.. I don't really remember the discussion on that well to remember that the problems were with doing so lol. I also remember you posting on a thread in Feedback about how Jagex should do that..

A couple weeks ago someone posted that a Twitter account has been doing announcements for a while, and I just got around to checking it out,

This made me think back to when you were asked about including VoS in Linkify.. Would it be possible to use this page in any way to help with that? I barely even remember if it's something you wanted to do or not, need more coffee to keep my brain active

It's a handy page, but I don't use Twitter, I'm a proud forum child!

I hadn't seen that RS Clock before. Damn I wish Jagex would just give us the API.

Okay I'll put it this way, RS Linkify can embed tweets so in it's simplest method that tweet could be embedded. Thus we have a VOS clock.

However that's not the best way since it means every page that's loaded will also hit twitter. And the entire tweet is not needed.

I could make linkify check the tweet hourly, on the hour or a minute after to be safe. Rather than embed the tweet I'd just read it, determine what icons are needed and display them. I need to read up on twitters APIs, unlike RuneScape's they are well documented so pulling the bits I need from a tweet should be straight forward.

Basically, it should be do-able. I can't see any reason why it wouldn't work. Not exactly the sort of thing I had in mind for linkify but I think it could be integrated quite nicely.

I just worked out how to do it.

I haven't tested in linkify, but I have a basic stand alone VOS Clock running on my desktop.

Need to make it look pretty with some VOS icons and make sure it plays nice with twitter. If all goes well we might see it an update quite soon
