This. I know players that are farming 2 phats a day afking. Nobody is hoarding yet. and whoever is won't see profits for years... If you like the item and don't need the money keep it and be happy. If you're trying to get rich by buying now then be prepared to lose all your money. People hoarded fish masks too. by the thousands. and how well did that work out for them...

Comparing fish masks to a discontinued golden partyhat might not be the best comparison, try black santa hat which went from 250m to 20b+. i remember the price because i was buying them heavily around the 250m to 300m range in 2014.

I can't believe that clown is comparing Fish Masks to Golden Partyhats... Dear God... xDD

Let me make one thing clear. Fish Mask is not an appealing rare, it's ugly, and has no history to it whatsoever. It was mass released, and pretty common.

I remember players buying spins and just getting loads and loads of these, because they thought it would be like an actual rare.

It resulted in thousands and thousands of them being released. The price reflected that obviously. It was worth like 2-5m lol

Now, Golden Partyhat is an iconic rare, very limited (1 per. account) it's the 20th RS anniversary item, which makes it really really special.

As I mentioned before, the current price reflects the rarity. No matter how bad you want this pretty hat to crash it simply won't because players like it, it looks cute and is already iconic.

Period.

These Hats can't be compared to anything. They are completely new.
It's true you can only earn 1 per account but you can earn them on newly created accounts too. Only 45m for Bond and 16-24 hours required to earn a limited time rare!

They may not drop much in price but at the same time, they will not go up much in price either.
For those poor souls who bought above current price, hang in there, it will go back up....eventually.

and anyone interested in earning around 30m per hr...create an ALT! Check out some Youtube vids for most efficient and easiest ways to farm Phat Shards! Make some GP while it's easy! GL!

Found some info.

Looking at these numbers, prices didn't go crazy in the rares market til about late 2005. So my prices would have been more for ~early to mid 2005 when I bought rather than august 2006.

Yea, rares were cheap and went up in 2005 I think. I joined then. I paid 5m for a blue hween I think, but dunno when that was. Santa was 250k in 2005 maybe, then 750K? I dunno.

I was just happy to get full rune and a Sara helm. When Barrows came out, I had full rune and Sara helm. I cannot for the life of me manage to catch Covid. Perhaps it's because I didn't get vaxxed? The travails of those lacking immunity.

Everyone is wearing Gold Phats now. Kinda takes the joy away from earning one since it basically just feels like a Quest reward item lol. Easy 500m profit for those who enjoy making $, i guess.

That's a very good point. Only 1 per account and that's IF the account gets lucky 5-6 times. My prediction is in time, it will be worth a lot more.

Not sure what luck has to do with obtaining the Phat. I have obtained more Hats then I care to admit and each time it was under 20 hrs, so you don't really need anything besides time to obtain one.

You are correct though, they will go up with time.
