While all the other hats are 30b+ which were once common too and more easily acquired than this one.

I really hope everyone holds on to their hat for a few years, so once it gets to a decent price a few players won't be able to corner the market so easily. That's exactly why God made ALTS.
Keep 1 or 2 Gold Phats on Main, sell all the rest now!
You can make and sell an unlimited amount (exaggerated a bit) of Phats during this event. If you haven't already earned atleast 3, then you must be sleeping!

Phats were 300k-500k back when I started. Took a week to earn 500k back then but now it takes like 2 seconds? Welcome to 2021 :P

by the time my main got banned and in 2006, blue was the most expensive at ~15m, cheaper ones were like 5-10m, santas were barely breaking 300k, full hween sets 1.2-2m. my memory the numbers probably arent super exact but it should be in that ballpark. god willing one of these days i'll remember the password to the old alts :|

very nostalgic thinking back on the trade worlds. such a pain buying items for quests at west varrock or fally east. most ppl will never know all treachery of trade worlds back then.

Yup dude its a huge conspiracy to buy out all the golden phats :P You better get them now before they are 10b each by next month.

All jokes aside given you can literally farm these new rares I would start buying them up around 40-75m each. But hey what do I know about merching rares :O

2005 i believe i bought my first hat,a white for 280m. It took like 5 years before they went significantly higher and broke 1b.
Golden partyhat though is way more common then any of the older hats ever where.

I could swear a purple didn't even break 100m until the grand exchange was released. Are you sure a white was 280m in 2005?

I think you might have your years mixed up. I specifically remember making money to buy a whole set for ~30-40m total. some time between 2005 and 2006.

A lot of people really dont get it. These hats dont have to reach 50b. All that has to happen is for them to reach 1b after the event is over and every single person who grinded out phats for 400-500m will be reduced to slave labor. Merchers will have made the exact same money as them by doing absolutely nothing. 50b in gphats vs 50b in another rare. Which one do you think will double in price first?

It's hilarious to see how many of you lack any knowledge whatsoever.

The original hats were being dropped like bones back in RSC. Purples were duped into thousands and thousands.

Golden Partyhat is way rarer than the original hats were back in RSC, and the current price reflects that, please, use your brain.

If the golden phat was as common as some of you make it sound, would it really be worth 500m?

Absolutely not.

The price reflects the supply. At the current price, which is around 500m I'd say there's around 3k to 7k, at MOST around 10k hats in-game, but I honestly doubt that we are that high yet.

The price and supply reminds me a lot of the Black Santa hat when it was released
