There is no contradiction at all. Jagex is just using misdirection in story telling. And they didn't just tell us in 2021 about Xau-Tak's "spiral". They actually did that in 2014 when they released the Eder Halls in the Fate of the Gods quest. Please free feel to examine Mah's egg in the Elder Hall, it shows the "spiral" too.... and long long ago. ;)

The spiral on the egg predates Xau-Tak's name being first mentioned in lore, which also occured in 2015. I don't see how they could have intended for it back then, seven years ago, when Xau-Tak's name wouldn't even be mentioned for the first time until a whole year later.

The quote about Xau-Tak's spiral also dates from 2016, two years after the egg was added to the game.

That's why the Lore Council has done a good job planning ahead. All along they have planned for Xau-Tak and his storyline. They just didn't reveal his name before the right time. Xau-Tak probably has been in action in the Fremmeik Saga. And let me remind you Xau-Tak's name appeared way way way before Elder Halls from the Book of Gods.

Xau-Tak's name only appears in V's Book of the Gods, which was added in 2015 with Hero's Welcome. The Elder Halls still predate this.

Release\t29 May 2013 (Update)

https://runescape.wiki/w/Book_of_the_Gods

Yes, the original Book of the Gods released in 2013 with the rest of the god emissaries, but if you were active back then, you'd remember that V, and his emissary, were not in the game in 2013.

V did not have a chapter in the Book of the Gods until Hero's Welcome was released in 2015. His emissary, as you can see here, was only released in 2015.

https://runescape.wiki/w/Hannu,_Emissary_of_V

Before that point, V was known as V_____ and hadn't returned. It wasn't even clear that he was a god. He was simply the character who touched the stone of Jas in While Guthix Sleeps. Hero's Welcome added in the god emissary for V and the corresponding chapter in the Book of the Gods, which was the first mention of Xau-Tak in the game, along with the Queen of Ashes.

You don't remember V or you didn't play back then doesn't mean the lore of V and the other gods didn't exist.

All indicators are on Jagex has planned for Xau-Tak almost a decade ago. They have been making cliff hangers after cliff hangers on that story line to get us entertained.

Now the time is right. It is about time to see Xau-Tak in action with Erebus in the making.

What are you even talking about? I did remember V, and I did play back then. What I'm saying is that V's chapter of the Book of the Gods did not exist within the game until it was ADDED into the game in 2015. The Book of the Gods originally did not have V's chapter in it. Xau-Tak was not mentioned in game until 2015. V as a god was not in the game until 2015, which was when his chapter in the Book of the Gods was added. The God Emissaries update did not originally include V. You can clearly see this, because all of the other chapters in the Book of the Gods are f2p, but V's chapter is member's only because it requires Hero's Welcome.

There were REFERENCES to the god that would eventually become Xau-Tak, as can be seen with the pirate questline and the horrors, but Xau-Tak was originally intended only for the pirate questline before he was developed further.

I honestly give up. There's nothing I can say to you because you're just completely off the mark here and you're not listening to me.

Again, Jagex didn't have to expressively name Xau-Tak to have him in the game. We likely have gotten to know Xau-Tak through Bilrach in the Fremmenik's Saga.

We didn't get to know Haluned was the Dark Lord before the opening of Priffdinas but his lore was in the game well beforehand. Same story with Xau-Tak.

Yes, this is obvious. I'm just saying it's not explicitly clear he was planned out from the start to be the corrupting entity of the elder gods.

Crystal clear is that you lack logic and basic understanding. Jas simply couldnt bother to use the Codex to create a shield of her own against Kerapacs shield. The Elder Gods are both more powerful than Guthix and more skilled with the elder artifacts. If Jas wanted, she could have crated a shadow anima shield for herself, just like Guthix did with us. We know too little of Erebus to make such false to date assumptions that Elder Gods cant enter Erebus. We, like Guthix and all other anima entities are created from Elder Gods anima. Therefore, whatever we are able to do, so can the Elder Gods. We dont have special abilities the Elders cant reproduce, they simply dont have to bother, especially when the World Guardian is tasked with dealing with such things. Its the job of the guardian to deal with small things, not the chief commanders.

Crystal clear you didn't follow the RS3 lore. The Elder Gods had abandoned the Codex in the 1st age. They don't control it anymore.

Being more powerful than Guthix doesn't mean the Elder Gods can do everythng Guthix can. Likewise, it is the same reason Guthix's Memories say that's point he created the World Guardian to do things even gods like himself can't.

Unluckily for you, you are the one who needs constant quoted wiki posts in order to be settled. While wiki quotes can get you on track, your lack of logic and intellectual power cant be helped. The Elder Gods can do anything a lesser anima being can do. They simply chose to not to interfere or have minimal to non-existent acts. All the anima in our universe come from the Elder Gods, and so does the magic and magic abilites-which are a byproduct of anima itself. Any power a god like Guthix posses is coming from the Elder Gods.

If all the anima in our universe come from the Elder Gods, there would never be the need of a Grand Revision as they could just create as much anima to feed themselves and their children. Obviously it is a fallacy.

Likewise, we can't assume all shadow anima come from whoever rule Erebus.
