As most of you have noticed by now, there's a 2% tax on everything sold over the grand exchange.
This has been implemented partly to contain inflation by functioning as a money sink, but also to counter the reduction of sinked money by deaths.
You can read more about the rationale behind it in this article:

So many updates have been in favour of PvMers... like another new boss gets introduced every now and then.
Why yet another update that mainly benefits PvMers?
Last time we saw a meaningful update for skillers was the mining and smithing rework, introduced back in 2019.
I prefer skilling - gathering/processing items, and yes, selling those items.
Why does Jagex push people towards combat most of the time?
This persisting trend has become so annoying, after over 10 years of consecutive membership, I've decided not to extend my membership anymore...
In vino veritas.

Apparently you don't realize plenty of pvm items in RS3 are created by skillers, for instance, scrimshaws and all pop gear, divine charges, endgame potions etc. Without the inventors, summoners and archaeologists, all pvmers will be trash.

This is one of the reasons skillers could do with a bit more appreciation from Jagex, instead of them mostly releasing combat focused content.
Tweaking the game to benefit certain play styles is not a bad thing really, but where I take issue is the way it has been handled. Death costs are largely a PvM concern so should have been resolved within that particular play style. That could be anything from reducing skilling or alchemy drops, to an exclusive tax for any item dropped by an NPC.
Low on bank space?

You don't realize skillers will be making less money on those.
Scrimshaws are not used in pvm since Elder God Scriptures came out and before no one used anything other than Vampiric. You can't augment tradable ports gear so Ganodermic is preferred.

Who said that? Not GE definitely.
If nobody uses them then noody will buy them and they won't be still selling for over 1.5 mil each.
