People dont hate OSRS players, where do people get this nonsense from?

I admit that's a general overview from what I've seen, but there is a definite split, and not a good split, between the two communities. They are just very different.

Which is why we should remain separated in matters such as clans. If we start giving in to more integration, knowing our luck they will see it as RS3 players giving in and accepting osrs more so they hand over more of our devs to them...

Well there are two different games, ofc there is a split, i dont understand why people think one group of players hates the other group, ive certainly not seen it, ive seen plenty dislike the games though and voice their opinions about that but thats a long way from hate of each other.

I think thats a good stance to take, i certainly dont think osrs has been healthy for the main game.

Why would you hope for that??

If 07 gets integrated in the current clansystem anyone who wanted to do so could make an 07-only clan. Nothing would prevent that.

sorry for the late response been away for a few days, I know quite a few of my rs3 clanmates who are in other 07 clans even though we have an 07 clan as they were in them from the start of osrs who would then be forced to pick a side even thought they play both games on the same acc so while your statement is true its not the reason im on the side of keeping them separate.

I am rather disappointed by the overall negativity. To me hating OSRS players is rather silly, its like people who watch Star Trek TNG hating ones that watch the original series.. even though many are actually the same people at a different time.

I maintain there is NO downside to this, as long as it is optional and there is no competition. Like I said earlier, it only ads an option that can be used, but does not have to be. An option that for more socially oriented clans and players, ones that are accepting and inclusive would be very helpful.

There are downsides, you'd be giving your clanmates that play both games the opportunity to abandon rs3 altogether and you would no longer be a rs3 clan.

Also adding an option means those of us that don't want it or feel it's not in our best interest for keeping our rs3 clans active are put in a situation where we have to be the bad guys and explain why we don't want it to everyone.

There are downsides.
1. If they had the same clan system, our development would be slowed in the future as it would need to be done for two games instead of one.
2. Clan conflicts - yes, it's silly to hate someone for whatever version the player prefers to play, but people do have this hatred.
3. If a clan decides to be 07/RS3 only, then that could have negative consequences for their players who sometimes play one game, and sometimes play the other.
4. At this point the community has split far enough apart that many people will be in clans in RS3, and "Clans" (Friends Chat) in OSRS. Adding clans would create a divide as to whether a player chooses to remain in their RS3 clan, or their OSRS one.
5. Both games have been altered massively since OSRS came to be. As such, I'd almost consider them seperate games, and for the most part, you wouldn't mix WoW players with Runescape players and force them to talk to each other at the same time, would you? (Yes that's a generalization but it still holds up).

Why should they play RS3 if they enjoy OSRS more? If your members don't like RS3 than maybe you should voice concern about that.

From what I've seen, it's rather silly to tar people who are opposed to combining the systems for a lot of technical and logical reasons with the 'OSRS hater' brush, because it's not what it's about at all. The 'we're all humans, can't we just get along' argument for combining the systems is not what this is about either, and is rather misleading.

We're talking about two completely different games here. OSRS isn't just RS3 with a twist, or a different ruleset, like DarkScape was to some extent (and it still had its separate clan system). OSRS isn't just RS3 with different combat and graphics, as it used to be back then - the games have since developed into two completely different things now. Asking to combine the systems is like going around and duct-taping the Call of Duty and Battlefield communities together (two different games) and telling them 'oh please, you're all humans, just get along' which completely misses the point.
