Support increasing communication between game versions.

We have members who play both RS3 and OSRS. There is also at least one longtime member who plays OSRS simply because any time he tries to login to RS3, he gets disconnected. Trying to keep the cc and fc running hasn't worked well for us in the past because it's rather cumbersome.

We were all clan mates before there were various "flavors" of the game. Everyone is still in Gielinor. Let us communicate in our clan chat again, please.

Integration from other games would be good, for those who dont like the idea have an option to turn it off.

My solution though would be to close osrs and darkscape.

There are some problems that would need to be fixed first.

When OSRS was first released, you could join the EOC Lobby and then launch the OSRS game. Of course you could talk on your Clan Chat via the EOC Lobby. But the Private Chat would only work on the EOC Lobby and the Friends Chat you could pick whether to make it work on the EOC Lobby OR the OSRS game. This is no longer possible.

My Clan has decided to use off-site tools like our TS3 Server and website to communicate in order to break barriers between Clan Chats and re-connect with Members we've lost over the years. So far it's been working as expected.

I'm personally concerned adding a Clan Chat system to OSRS would break OSRS as we know it. After the 2011 Clan Tools were released, many Friends Chats joined together into Clan Chats only to later split apart. After OSRS was released, it's been amazing to see people from different RS3 Clan Chats join into several OSRS Friends Chats and switch between the chats.

There is no commitment to 1 single clan on OSRS which I personally find to be great because there are Clans of different types and we've seen the struggle many Players have faced when trying to switch between RS3 Clans due to probation/cooldown/etc.

People are also talking about completely different things. If you throw people from RS3 and OSRS into a Friends Chat, the conversation of which game is better and trying to convince people to switch from one game to another will always rise because people like to play with their friends. Then people will go back to talking about the game they're actually playing which leaves out of the conversation those who aren't. It's weird which is why many don't want what you're asking for.

Another big question is: Are there that many people who play both? I mean I mainly play RS3 and occasionally will play OSRS. And I got friends that do the opposite. But very few have the free time to actively play two different games like RS3 and OSRS.

Do we need it? People who play multiple games already have Steam, Curse Voice, TeamSpeak, Ventrilo, Razer Comms, Raidcall, etc. just to name a few.

Jagex has already connected most of their games via Private Chat and the OSRS Clan Chat is literally integrated with the RS3 Friends Chat. I mean it's the same thing.

I understand why some might want it, but I don't. O_o

OSRS isn't closing any time soon. Too much development has gone into it and its community has grown to be as active if not more than the RS3 Community. I personally get jealous sometimes of the cool updates OSRS gets that RS3 doesn't. :P

DarkScape will be closing on March 28, 2016. I feel indifferent about it since I never played it, but I might before it's last day. ;)

This is probably not the point popular perspective, but I would be very much opposed to this. Our clan is a RS3 clan, very specifically, and we regularly kick or remove people who cannot maintain RS3 activity (even if they are playing OSRS). Additionally, as others here have said I have no desire to see OSRS talk in our CC.

If this gets implemented, please let it be something that we can choose to turn off if we would prefer.

I would rather have OSRS and RS3 separate. They are different games. We maintain our clan members in OSRS and RS3 via friends chats and offsite forums/IRC/TS channels. Mixing the two in a single channel would generate additional overheads in chat moderation, different aspects of clan management and administration. Both are separate games, having different account statistics, different gameplay mechanics, event requirements, especially in terms of PvP, discussion of quests, item prices, economy and so on. Having all of that in a single chat would create a lot of confusion, not to mention the increased frequency of subliminal intolerance and hostility that some players hold against each game version.

Personally, I would rather have that much effort spent on RS3 in implementing clan vs clan features similar to RCW in each of the mini-games that was brought up multiple times in the past but never implemented due to lack of time and resource. The RCW seasonal hiscores were asked for multiple times but still not implemented yet. Clan Wars at gamers grotto needs to be updated with new challenge options, clan vs clan features and new content and it keeps getting ignored. PvP combat system seems to be getting tuned for single player instead of multiplayer for a game that's supposed to be classed as a MMO, which has severely affected many PvP clans, forcing them to shut down or migrate to other games.

Time, effort and resources are investments for any game developer. They should yield maximum returns. I would question the lead dev and project managers on how priorities are set and resources are managed here. It's not like you've finished your legendary invisible "backlog" that you have so much time to spend on this anyway. Why spend time and effort on something that is doubtful and has mixed opinions instead of something that is actually needed in the respective games?

Hmm I think you're right there. Singleclanning is only holding players back to experience something new and different. If the update would limit OS players as much as RS3 players, I'd also have to say no thanks.

Your last line is the most important one. Without functioning multi-combat, the rest doesn't really matter though.
