Multiclanning is arguably the key point unfortunately, as many players would otherwise be forced to choose between an RS3 or 07 clan, which would probably cause A LOT of issues and tension :S -

yep jagex can't do anything without someone crying

We only lost a few clan members in the great migration to oldschool some play both games because they miss the cc

i can count on 1 hand those who are active in o7

Every day i see players who left game at eoc asking to join Rs3 clans in forums

So i think its good just give us a toggle option and a
clan members mute option


i dont mind visitors from other clans

I'd prefer them to be separate. Trying to connect the systems seems like it'll just end up holding us back from getting updates in the future.

It'd definitely be nice to be able to join clan chats (even if just guesting in them) from OS.

An actual fully-fledged clan system, I'm not too bothered about, to be honest. Clans have coped (and thrived) without it, and it means there aren't arbitrary restrictions about multi-clanning/etc. put in place (or any issues re: citadels/avatars/forcing people to do stuff they don't want to/etc.).

My 2 cents on this. I do not think it should matter what the separate groups want, there will always be diagonally opposite opinions.. no matter what. Jagex did a great thing by creating an other option to enjoy RS, in '07 , it clearly has its fans , but in my ..humble.. opinion there was and is a downside which is splitting the community. That can partly be fixed this way, without actual downsides, besides emotional ones.

People can choose themselves in what kind of clan they want to be, and clans can decide if they want to be an OS or EOC only clan..

Chococino's problem as such does not exist , since he can himself decide, along with his clanmates if they want to see 07 ppl in their clan or not.

Many clans, including mine have members who play both types of the game and it is not altogether that hard to hop between the versions, if one wishes to do so.

There is a potential problem, with one clansysten, it will make some people have to choose between being in an EOC focused clan and one focused on 07. I am sure my clan will lose some members who will chose to totaly focus on OS, but these already do not have much of a bond with us anymore anyway.. and the massive loss of XP.. well.. people matter more then ranks..
However, who knows, Jagex has pleasantly surprised me before with clever solutions.. so maybe you guys find one for this.


About having a poll in OS about this only, that would be wrong, regardless of if the outcome pleased me, lol, because this issue affects players in the modern game also.

We also tried to run an FC next to our CC, to cater to our OSRS members, we even made a special account called Retrotavern .. to which I by now lost the pasword.. lol..
It did not work, coss it became a tangled mess and no one knew what was being said where anymore, while over half the EOC members never went in that FC.

I think Fire Hawk154 has some good ideas, although I wonder about multyclanning.. that sounds complicated and convoluted. If that became an option, it would surely fix / prevent problems but also create some.. Maybe a very limited version, limiting it to 2 , or 1 in each gametype.. i.d.k...

I wonder , and this can of course be polled in OS, if they actually want fully fledged clans.. with citadels, clan highscores and ..lets face it.. exclusivity, because I really doubt you can do multyclanning and still compare clans based on xp gains and such.

If they do not want this, this becomes a lot easier.. because the only thing needed is an extra chat-option, that links to the RS3 clanchats,. for those who chose to use it. No competition over players, because they will just keep using their CC's , that RS3 calls FC's to make their clans.. the old way.

Last point: this rivalry between both games to me seems rather silly and childish, I myself do not play OS, I tried, but found it to be to old fashioned and I actually got over my initial problems with EOC. I adapted.. However, I do not begrudge my friends who DO like it better.. why not? Its not like the 2 bite each other, except for the split in the community.

In the end it is all about choice and the only thing I advocate is adding the OPTION for our OS friends to join us, if they wish.

As has been said, we all have different views on this matter, and we each to a bias to a side. Personally I'd hate to see the two games get merged clan systems, your forgetting the intense saltyness between players opinions towards each other between game version. That even includes myself, I think osrs is a complete waste of dev resources, we even lost Maz to it to prove that point. It even bothers me that osrs has its own section on the official forums, they should have their own separate forum so that we can rid ourselves of their threads on here, it is a different game after all.

To me, joining these two together in such ways as clan chats is no different to joining clan and guild chats together between Runescape and WOW. They are different games with different communities, it just doesn't work.

Well that's my heavily biased view on the matter for what its worth lol. I am a maingame rs player and always will be and have played through all of the advancements through the years, enjoying each one, those who abandon ship to play osrs are stuck in the past yet you cater for them with "new" updates on an old game, all dev time should be focused on RS3 solely.

PS, come back to the greater game Maz lol

Also just to add in, wont this even severely limit osrs clan creation? seeing as a large amount of clan names are already taken up in RS3. So yet again, keep them separate... XD
