There are downsides, you'd be giving your clanmates that play both games the opportunity to abandon rs3 altogether and you would no longer be a rs3 clan.

Also adding an option means those of us that don't want it or feel it's not in our best interest for keeping our rs3 clans active are put in a situation where we have to be the bad guys and explain why we don't want it to everyone.

Why should they play RS3 if they enjoy OSRS more? If your members don't like RS3 than maybe you should voice concern about that.

I never said they enjoy OSRS more or that they don't like RS3.

The question isn't why shouldn't they play OSRS or RS3?, It's do we want to allow OSRS players in our RS3 clans? And the answer for myself and my deputies all agree is a big no for numerous reasons as many here have already pointed out.

Okay.....I'm going to draw a comparison here, this may backfire...

If you're all familiar with Jagex's livestreams on Twitch, you'd know that pretty much every time they livestream something for RS3 there's always a point in the stream where OSRS players are spamming trash talk about RS3 in the comments section. There have even been a few times when Jagex has to interrupt the stream to ask them to calm down.

Do you really want that going on in your clan chats? O_o

You said it would give them the opportunity to abandon RS3, which players wouldn't do if they enjoyed RS3 more than OSRS. So if that's your argument against it you seem to be worried about it.

They don't do it because they hate RS3 players, but because EoC was the main reason RuneScape was split in two. They're only trying to get their point across in an unhelpful manner simply because posting constructive threads isn't going to change anything either. The majority doesn't hate RS3 players, even though the way they're treated by RS3 players isn't always nice either. Allowing them in the clan chat wouldn't automatically result in problems.

What? I think you'll find that OldSchool was the reason the game split into two.

But anyway, if they can then let intergame clan interaction happen, then by all means do it. If you don't want to do/don't like it then don't utilise the feature, or better yet make a toggle option if its possible. There is literally no downside to a toggle. Personally I don't mind what hpppens but it just my input.

We have always been a social clan of the more "mature" spectrum of players. Some of our clannies just didn't care to make the adjustment to EOC (and many who stayed 07 don't realize how much it has improved). We manage to keep in touch through private message, but would welcome the ability to open our clan chat to those "lost" members.

Just the screams from the QA team; I can hear them crying already. O_o

And my Deputies flooding my smartphone with whatsapp messages about what am I going to do if our RS3 CC gets filled with more people from OSRS than people from RS3. I'd rather avoid that whole argument. :P

Theres no downsides which are not general problems with peoples clans for example if theres conflict between two sets of clanmates for whatever reason then you have a disciplinary problem in your clan lol.

Nothing that having the option to use it or not wont solve.

From what I've seen, it's rather silly to tar people who are opposed to combining the systems for a lot of technical and logical reasons with the 'OSRS hater' brush, because it's not what it's about at all. The 'we're all humans, can't we just get along' argument for combining the systems is not what this is about either, and is rather misleading.

We're talking about two completely different games here. OSRS isn't just RS3 with a twist, or a different ruleset, like DarkScape was to some extent (and it still had its separate clan system). OSRS isn't just RS3 with different combat and graphics, as it used to be back then - the games have since developed into two completely different things now. Asking to combine the systems is like going around and duct-taping the Call of Duty and Battlefield communities together (two different games) and telling them 'oh please, you're all humans, just get along' which completely misses the point.

Dont think ppl are asking to combine the systems are they? just wanting ppl to be able to chat in the same chat.

If you dont want osrs players in your clan then dont invite them? People are gonna be either osrs or rs3 whether theres chat integration or not.

Everyone who talks on a twitch stream is a troll, all twitch streams are is just spam of any nature, not the best example.

As mentioned before, if your clan chat is like a twitch stream chat then you have bigger issues than chat intergration lol
