I honestly don't get why this is so hard to understand...
Its not; some only read a bit of the thread and don't understand why we cant close the cc.
Others don't want to understand and fencing with a very popular (these days) "discrimination" argument, completely out of context, ignoring that its a
temporary
measure when problems occur.
They prefer we punish a bunch of legit members alongside with a troll, just so 'god forbid' some
random
f2p guest who
maybe, might
join our cc can't talk for 20 minutes. We are so awefull, sorry :/

Since this conversation started taking a turn for the worse early-on, I've been trying to see where the 'discrimination' point of view was coming from, but it's really a rather extreme way to put it considering this is a video game. Yes, this would be an update solely to benefit members while being a negative update for F2P (when ignoring the fact that it would help deter trolls who will [mostly] be the only ones negatively affected), so I do vaguely see a valid point there.
Rather than butt-heads with each other over this, we should be able to come to a better compromise here, as we are Clan Leaders after all. Looking over the Dev Blog posted for Friend Chats (
which I've mentioned a few times, but I'll link again here
), I think it would be better for us to focus on potential solutions that don't cause this type of commotion.
We've just been focusing on one aspect of Guesting here, so a better solution would be togglable settings including:
- Maximum/Minimum combat level to join
- Maximum/Minimum total level to join
- P2P required to join, or F2P required to join
- P2P required to speak, or F2P required to speak
By the latter two, I mean F2P clans would be able to block out members from Guesting and/or speaking if they chose to just as P2P clans would be able to do the same.
We all have our own preferences for our clans, so we should understand that others may not agree on what's the best way to run them. Simply put, there is no best way to run a clan, and we need to focus on what works better for the majority rather than focus on smaller details.

That's even taking it a step further, and i like the idea tbh.
My idea was based on an idea from another thread 'Guest knocking approve denial" (something like that)
Because of the reaction from Mathe regarding dev time etc... i started thinking further about this idea, if that idea isn't possible for now, maybe the mute f2p is easier to make.
No clue how much work it would be, or, maybe at Jagex's end they thinking, "when the mute system is in place, this'll be fixed also" (which isn't the same imo)
So far we have a few options who and who not to allow to speak / enter our cc's.
Apart from reporting (which places the work in Jagex's hands) this is one of the few tools we can handle ourselves. And i'dd like us to have more of these tools, to manage outsiders trying to disturb, what we see fit in our clan / gaming experience.
Ty for poking that brain'o'yours thinking along

I suggested these types of filters as well and 100% support multiple filters to design a guest policy that fits with each individual clan.
