Members only clans should have a button that prevents f2p players from even guesting in our clans.
This is the only solution to external trolling becoming internal.
Option 2:
On the other hand. The clan white list (mentioned many times and supported by many) is also a very effective method to establish the peace we want inside our clans.

The issue is that some people go to such lengths to troll. e.g. making accounts when no admins online to ban them. Therefore banning is not a fix since trolling can have devastating effects on a clan

It's not targetting anything or anyone if it's an optional feature...
And in some ways, yes it is targetting specific groups; they are the problem, so they will be dealt with.
Nothing wrong with that, it's how things work. There is no way around it.

Anyway, I get that the group you're referring to the group of trolls, but the solution to that group shouldn't hurt other groups like free players.
I know this is a very bad example, but it'd be like the police racially profiling people.
