Again, this organizing may take quite a long time with the 1-2 posts a day, and only had 1 reply the last time I mentioned it. It might be a good idea to get together on one day, for an hour or two or whatever to discuss and organize things. I'm aware many of you are super busy so just leave a comment with the days you have more time to spare.

Why I suggested Discord or Skype to help speed things up :P But yea we should at least find some time soon to set up one of these to finish up discussing and organizing the comps, whether it's on RS or through Skype/Discord/TS. I'd say a rough estimate for when this needs to happen is by the end of July so we can have these done by mid August at latest. Then we just have to advertise around.

Yeah, if you guys can add me in game and then can discuss things further then and plan something. I have a TS server if needed.

Let's just take this to top instead of all that useless crap

Not sure what you mean by this. Can you clarify?

Updated a bit.
1. Changed the weeks to 1 challenge each being:
Week 1: Solo Araxxor - 5 players from each clan compete.
Week 2 - Telos Killstreak - 3 players from each clan compete.
Week 3 - Yakamaru - 2 groups (20 people; still questionable as to whether or not I'd want this in) from each clan compete.
Week 4 - 5 man Vorago - 2 groups (10 people).

2. Removed some of the dates
3. Did some testing on the ranking and point system to confirm it's fair and produces results I'm happy with. It does. If you really want to look at it it's here:
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/14O_wgyzpHqGAC5E4z4uX7a0HiRfA5xfrsgwdsqI4r4o/edit?usp=sharing
I'm not going to format/analyze it further, so beware some things may look weird (a lot of it are just notes for myself). If you have questions about it feel free to ask, but just realize this is mainly for proof of concept on my end.

One problem that did precipitate from testing is that there are a fair amount of ties (the way the data was produce was that each clan is randomly ranked 1-14 for each week and assigned point values for that week that correspond to their rank). Now I do not expect this to happen as frequently in the competition as it does in my spreadsheet (the spreadsheet is random, the competition is not, in theory) but it does raise the question of what do we do if there's a tie at the end? I'd like to have at least the top 5 ranked, but then after that I do not think that ties matter. I was thinking of doing something like this:
1. Find the two clans that are tied, and count how many top 5 finishes they have for each of the weeks.
2. If the above is the same between each clan then count the amount of top 3 finishes.
3. If the above is the same between each clan then count the amount of first place finishes.
4. The clan with the least amount of top 5/3/1 finishes is then placed lower than the clan with more.

At least for my data set this was able to find a winner in each tie circumstance. I'm not opposed to using another challenge as a tiebreaker though. Let me know what you all think.

Other edits:
1. More information on the process of how to go about scoring and evaluating each result.
2. Scoring reflects the 1 challenge a week approach.

More edits to come soon, just doing it block by block, been a bit busy (finals week for summer session here).

Tbh we have most things sorted, the next steps probably:

1 - See if Matthe agrees with the structure we have in mind for the Cup and selects organisers. If we're going to get the Jagex support we need, it'll have to be something they're fine with.

2 - Get the main organisers chosen on Ts or Discord to fine tune the Cup details in a voice chat meeting. Discord is better as it saves chat as well so it can be used as an offsite text discussion area, as well as a voice chat server. A Clan Cup Discord server is set up and ready to go already if needed.

3 - In addition to the core ones chosen by Matthe, choose other organisers to fill the remaining slots ourselves.

4 - Start work on the tech side of the Cup so we can get a good idea of any limitations early. Hopefully we'll have some techies join as well, if not we'll have to find some =\

5 - Edit any Cup areas where tech is more lacking than expected.

6 - Have Matthe check the final version of our clan cup proposal and confirm Jagex will provide advertising and prizes. If not, rework areas as needed.

7 - Set publication and competition start dates and brace ourselves for impact :P

If we don't get any sign of support from Jagex I'm personally sceptical as to whether it's even worth continuing the organisation tbh. I asked Matt a few weeks ago to post the sign-up thread, and sent some reminders. Imo we should wait at least one more week since we're in no rush, but at this point I'd also understand skipping step 1 and taking the risks.

Also on my phone atm so I'll read the doc etc posted above later.

Sounds good to me, however if people do want another challenge as a tiebreaker then that makes it a little more exciting imo :P

"-WEEK 1 RULES & PROCEDURE - SPEED SOLO PVMING" 4a
-
"These clips can be sent to [email protected]"

Little concerned about submissions being sent to an email - youtube/plays.tv/vidme(10min cap)/twitch seems the safer option.

Also think that the kill times shouldn't be based on when it hits 0 LP but when the boss timer ends as well as just stating an obvious rule that they HAVE to show their chatbox at the end of the kill unfiltered.

Also agree with a comment made on the spreadsheet about the Telos tiebreaker being loot, it's a nice idea but if I lost because somebody was luckier I'd be rather disappointed and don't think it's fair. Perhaps then doing a 1v1 highest enrage streak, or a 1v1 fastest Telos kill 100%+ enrage. Perhaps give them 2-3 days MAX to submit that new clip.

"EVALUATION & SCORING:" 4a
-
"In the case of Week 2, the kill the competitor dies on/shows last is the highest killstreak."

The kill streak should end on the last successful kill, not the percentage of enrage on the kill they die on.

I'm happy with the scoring system too.

I'm happy to start working on this a bit more whenever you guys are, whether it's waiting a week or just skipping step 1.

Pointed this out quite a long time ago. You can't base a competition on something so RNG based. It's just not-done.
