THREAD PURPOSE

This thread aims to get the ball rolling on the nitty gritty of Cup management: rules, procedures, roles, their implications etc.

The content of this thread is NOT set in stone and will be edited in response to discussion. Feel free to raise anything in this thread for discussion.

Co-ordination between organisers and offsite discussion will take place in the CC2016 Discord channel. Anyone with an interest in the Clan Cup is welcome to join, whether they are an organiser or not :)

CURRENT AREAS OF DISCUSSION


- If clans do not manage to contact each other for their war, who gets disqualified?

- How to pull hiscore stats onto google sheets?


STEPS UNTIL COMPLETION


1 - See if Matthe agrees with the structure we have in mind for the Cup and selects organisers. If we're going to get the Jagex support we need, it'll have to be something they're fine with.

2 - Get the main organisers chosen on Ts or Discord to fine tune the Cup details in a voice chat meeting. Discord is better as it saves chat as well so it can be used as an offsite text discussion area, as well as a voice chat server. A Clan Cup Discord server is set up and ready to go already if needed.

3 - In addition to the core ones chosen by Matthe, choose other organisers to fill the remaining slots ourselves.

4 - Start work on the tech side of the Cup so we can get a good idea of any limitations early. Hopefully we'll have some techies join as well, if not we'll have to find some =\

5 - Edit any Cup areas where tech is more lacking than expected.

6 - Have Matthe check the final version of our clan cup proposal and confirm Jagex will provide advertising and prizes. If not, rework areas as needed.

7 - Set publication and competition start dates and brace ourselves for impact :P -

Clan Cup organiser selection process suggestion:

- Make an autohidden Clan Cup organiser application thread/google form in the CLF with a couple of evaluative questions. Matthe/Shauny choose organisers from the responses
- The players picked then choose the rest of the team and appoint a Chair and Heads themselves
- Organisers must be willing to use a clan cup organisation Discord channel -

CLAN CUP ORGANISER ROLES


Chairman
- Oversees all disputes
- Posts flagthread, dispute thread, FAQ and rules/procedures threads, or delegates the posting to others
- Advertisement

PvP Organisers
- Deal with PvP Cup disputes
- Create the threads needed for the PvP Cup and keep them updated with results etc
- Archive the memberlists of participating clans
- Attend and keep an eye on wars when needed
- Advertisement
- Responding to questions on the forums and in-game

Stealing Creation Organisers have similar duties to the PvP organisers


Iron Skilling Organisers
- Deal with Skilling Cup disputes
- Create the threads needed for the Skilling Cup and keep them updated with results etc
- Keep track of the xp gained by each competitor each week and calculate results
- Advertisement
- Responding to questions on the forums and in-game

PvM Organisers
- Deal with PvM Cup disputes
- Create the threads needed for the PvM Cup and keep them updated with results etc
- Review video submissions for rulebreaking
- Collect results from submitted videos and calculate clan scores
- Advertisement
- Responding to questions on the forums and in-game

Techies
- allow organisers to automatically pull data from the RS hiscores for many different players at once
- other tasks relating to automating spreadsheets and pulling data from the website may pop up

Back-up
- Help out if more support is needed but organisers are currently unavailable
