Oh and workload rarely gets split evenly as well. There's always one or two who take the brunt for the rest who tend to slack off - just to add another argument for minimizing it.
This is where I think we are struggling to grasp as for workload. Here are my simple analytics.
PvP cup:
This is the most straight forward cup when it comes to organizing; the brunt of the work (IMO) will be in disputes. With more people involved, it increases the risk of cheating or tactics forbidden by the clan cup. Also, I know how the warring community is, after taken part in it for a time... it gets very competitive.
PvM cup:
A lot of man-hours watching videos and making sure video entries are submitted in a timely fashion. However, I think after watching like the first 5 videos or so, we will know what to watch for and a lot of the hours will be cut down by simply pressing the fast-forward button.
Skilling cup:
Not so many disputes on this one, just a lot of calculations by organizers & techs. I think techs will be more involved with this cup than the other two. This one necessarily isn't a lot of man-hours... but it's a lot of mind-numbing math and accounting.
Overall workload,
I am concerned by looking at this thread. I see 7-8 people here basically hammering this out for all of the cups. I think it will boil down to this. Everyone is on a committee. Each person will be responsible for a cup. Once your work is over with a certain cup, then help out another organizer with their cup. It will be a lot of work, but I believe we can do it. (Now, I'm just being cheesy) I really do think Mod Matthe should post that organizer application thread soon so the chosen organizers can get to work right away. There is a lot of work to be done, so lets get started.

I've only been posting on here for the past 2 or 3 days as I've only just seen the thread then, but I'm more than happy to help out as much as possible with this competition. I have quite a bit of free time at the moment as it's summer time and uni doesn't start back until September. Again it will require Mod Matthe to post an organizer application but I'd probably fit best into the PvM category as I have a lot of knowledge with PvM compared to PvP. I've also not been involved in the clan cups before so it would be nice to be part of this and help out as much as I can.
In reply to the workload conversation, I do agree with Calm. If however there is extra challenges per week then again I should be able to free myself up a lot to help out with it.

That is 6 of us... This is why we need to have a serious discussion with mod matthe about the workload.

(I apologize if I forgot anyone)
And Yt-Haar made a few posts at the beginning of the thread. Which makes 7 of us. If there is an application thread made for organisers then I'm sure there will be a few others interested at that point, but again Calm raised a few important points to consider with the amount of competitions we hold for how many people there are willing to help organize it at this moment in time. Perhaps if the numbers double more of us would agree with increasing the number of competitions hosted, but again... going back to Calms point -

Two competitions a week not only overburdens us but also the clan reps who have to organise their clans in order to get submissions, sift through them all and provide us with the best.
People competing are also limited on time. Always better safe than sorry and just host the 1 competition per week, and if we handle that well and find ourselves in a similar position down the line with Jagex having to big of a workload to host a clan cup, maybe we could look at 2 then.

Also, we need to start thinking about when we start, cuz I know for kids anyhow, they start 2nd week of August. (I'm from the states)
This will be my first year really getting involved with it and not sure how long it will take us to get everything planned, but I don't think it would be feasible to start the cup before people go back to school, college etc. We'd have to give the community enough notice too, and having it start by the 2nd week of August seems to be pushing it.
Also as for planning when we're getting down to the nitty-gritty stuff, maybe I'd be worth getting us all together at one time? Currently it's a few posts a day and will take a very long time like this to get it all organized.

I agree, I'm usually fine in the evenings and weekends because i work fulltime during the day.. However, if timezone issues become problems... i dont know.
Regarding start dates, we have to take into account runefest (17 Sep) and dxp weekend (tba). As a general comment, I think we could be ready to announce the Cup in mid-late August. With 2-3 weeks for sign-ups we could even start in the first weeks of September, perhaps after Runefest to avoid that disruption. If dxp pops up during cup period we could announce a week break for it.

Perhaps another thing to take into consideration is the 2nd batch to the Arc which comes out in October, however they're doing 4 Islands this time so will more than likely be right at the end of the month, so maybe best to start end of September or start of October? I'm sure the Arc will be very, very popular content. Next weeks update looks so good!
