sorry have been busy, way to deal with making sure clan only is to open the friend's chats/clan chats to tourney officials so that they can compare the 2 to make sure everyone in fc is in fact in the clan. As long as the proposed mass recruiting rule isn't breached in the time leading up to the war, you would only have to make sure the names added up. considering most wars won't be over 10v10 and full outs likely won't eclipse 50v50, looking up the names would not be that difficult.

1 - Regarding organisers going to every war to check memberlists are in line with the rules, that would be too time consuming. It's unrealistic for an organiser to be free for every war + increases the time taken for a war to start considerably
2 - Regarding videoing memberlists each round, I can guarantee that all but a handful of the top clans (and perhaps some of them too) would neglect to do this. Some don't have video software, some would find it an excessive hassle, some wouldn't really understand what to do etc. Tbh using videos in the PvM Cup was a last resort because there's literally no other way for it to work + people find videoing pvm kills more natural. However, I'd ideally try to keep video use in the Cup to a minimum.
Having said that, we still do need some way to check memberlists. One method that comes to mind is:
"You can request the opposing clan let you into their fc before the start of a round in order to take screenshots of all their participants."
That would only work in purple portal though as it requires everyone to be in the fc. It would work for rcw as players can leave the cc channel. Haven't had time to think it through properly so just a quick thought.

Also if used in conjunction with something like a google docs spreadsheet set up by us that has the memberlists for each clan after a certain date/time, the competitors can just confirm that everyone competing on the other clan are in fact on that spreadsheet.

this was more in line with my thinking. most clans wouldn't even think to check if all competing members were in the other clan, and an even higher percentage wouldn't be willing to risk taking in non-clan members if there was a fear of auto forfeiture etc etc

Yes, but honestly, I believe this is one of techs jobs. For these techs, 80% of their work is going to be between the time of deadline of registration to the start of first round. Otherwise, I see them just helping the pvm/skilling cups in a flexible team role.

U can easily pull the member list from the clan page or check Runeclan when people are joined in that clan or left it. Just someone has to check this when they argue about rules and post their particiapants for wars against other clans.

@Ceecs - you can do that for the current memberlist, but to check for multiclanning and mass recruiting you also need past memberlists =\ As in the past, we'd have to require clans post a ml every week, or post them ourselves on a google doc as Hop suggests. Hopefully a techie will be able automatically pull all the lists we need every week

Automatically pulling the data isn't a problem, as far as my own abilities go. It's more the problem of archiving them, which would have to be done manually. Still, wouldn't take much more than ~10-20 seconds per clan for archiving as long as the correct functions were set up. Setting up the functions to pull names shouldn't take more than ~1-2 minutes per clan competing, so I wouldn't exactly expect this to take much time. After that, keeping records of name changes would be tough too, and might have to be done manually (I think there's a way to do it that isn't manual but I'll have to 2x check). This is where I'd expect the bulk of the time needed to be spent.
If people are interested I can post a step-by-step on how I'd do it. It's fairly rudimentary, but should get the job done.
