Our job as clan leaders in this forum doesn't matter. We suggest, we are shut down. We are told its too complex to manipulate. Clans are denied. Its done. Have they even announced the raids cup winner? Doubt it.

Lets look at the updates that have been given to us.
-Citadel boosters: you can buy these with MTX. That is what we get.
-Cool down

Updates we want
-Bank
-Reworked avatar buffs
-Reworked citadel
-Icon for avatar holder/Avatar beacon on map
-New clan ranks
-Personalized clan ranks
-Boss counter on clan info
-Cap counter on clan info
-Member cap list

and so much more.

I dont know about you guys, but personally I am struggling keeping my clan alive. There is no benefit to clans other than the citadel. Friend chats exist for social interaction. Small clans are failing as well due to neglect. I am done. We already displayed our displeasure on the 2016 and clans thread. Where is the cosmetic cape? Where is the mute option? Where is the updates we actually want?

CLF, is it time to throw in the towel?

There is a lot of room for improvement in terms of communications and expectations, but don't throw in the towel CLF!

While I am not entirely sure how we can achieve the updates we've been waiting on, the one thing we can impact is our ingame clan community. I personally try to keep an optimistic tone with my clan, even though sometimes the information we're given isn't easy to deliver. All we can do at the moment is maintain our clans' morale and hope that Jagex will give clans some attention soon. :P

As long as clans exist we can look to the good we have from them , and that is what makes all our hard work and stress worthwhile. Sure we all have times when its easy to just pack it all in and walk away, but we keep going. Here more than anywhere we understand the stress and hard work required to keep a clan thriving and moving forward, but you can do it . You have people here to help you and give advice, to rant along with you and laugh at misfortune afterwards. We are all in this together, but we can get through it side by side

For me the good has always outweighed the bad, citadel boosters meh, if clan mates want to waste their money on them then thats up to them - i wont be. What we have to look at is that they actually did something for clans, ok its not ideal but its still something. A small something that proves that all this time they said it couldn't be done, but actually it can

Look to the positive, and hope for the best - that this is the first step on the journey to more clan updates.

All the clans I've been in had trouble staying alive due to updates or the lack of updates, so I know how you feel. But I'm still here :P

Why don't you change your clan to be based around social interaction? I'm getting alot of benefits from being in my clan, because I made great friends there :) And when there's nothing fun to do on RuneScape, we just play other games together. A clan can be more than just sharing a chat ingame that doesn't have mute functions. And when your clan becomes more than that, the clan chat functions don't matter as much.

I do agree with you Andras. Clans have been getting neglected way too much. But I don't think it's time to throw in the towel. Not yet, anyway.

I only play this game mostly for the sake of my clan, and maybe the excitement of Max cape prospects,
and while I'm not ready to throw in the towel, I am not real far off.
My clan is under constant struggle, and I find myself having to do more and more to keep it alive,
at the expense of my RL endeavors such as my Job, education, and side projects. All of which suffer.
If you say it's stupid that you do that for a game, it's because, who wants to let people down, including yourself?

Compared to other MMO's, the community structure is weak. Oppressively so.
To the point where I can't even create a forum of excitement, without 98% of the commentary being borderline or completely negative and cynical.
(See 2016 and Clans.)

I am still waiting though, if 2016 is a flop year, I might very well be saying forget it and
going off to play Black Desert on release.

Jokes. But the idea is funny. Outside of a very, very large organized community revolt. (Like hundreds if not thousands of people refusing to buy Membership or something etc.) I don't see what you can do, outside of DIY things, such as mentioned by L0ne Druid.
