November 2010

I can still remember my excitement at hitting our 6 month mark as a clan so I could attempt to gain access here. I applied and
I made it! I became part of the Clfs!!

We had 2 JMods dedicated to helping & listening to us. We had almost monthly meetings with one or the other of them either in game or in the Clan Leaders fc.
When I ran across a fellow clan leader in game I would enthusiastically mention the Clfs to make sure they were aware it existed.
I'd be excited to share with my clannies tidbits of what might be coming down the road for clans.
Ofc things weren't always rosey. Like when we went through a seemingly revolving door of Jmods. Or when we passed the popcorn around as we watched the forum disputes between a few clan leaders. But at the end of the day the Clfs seemed worthwhile because it seemed like Jagex cared about clans.

Fast forward to November 2015

I know that when I see a new clan leader in game I no longer even mention the clfs to them.
I know I don't mention to my clannies anything that "might" be coming down the road for clans so they don't get disappointed.
I still check the clfs almost daily although I don't post nearly as often as I used to.
I will continue to lead my clan with the same passion I've always had even tho it's harder than it used to be.
I will continue to read these forums with rose colored glasses, confident that someday I will read that 1 little thing that gives me the glimmer of hope I need to be enthusiastic about the clfs again.

Time to throw in the towel? No not yet. As they say, tie I knot in it and hang on. Unfortunately I don't have 99 strength so I'm not strong enough to hold on forever.

About to throw in the towel - on Runescape - not while I still have friends playing (with the next batch of Maxed players with nothing to aim for due to Comp cape & pvm not going to renew their annual memberships - this may not be for much longer)

About to throw in the towel on Clan - they are family, we have changed, adapted and ignore all the 'Jagex hype' - we are just there to enjoy - but each January another large chunk leaves :(

About to throw in the towel on CLF - a long time ago. Empty promises, half started projects, always the same excuses of priorities, spaghetti code etc (but hey look at Solomons store - suddenly all things are possible if it means money). Somewhere, somehow Jagex are listening to some players (so they say) but it sure has not been Clan Leaders for a very very long time.

About to throw in the towel in believing Jagex have ears - what are ears if you are not a pvm elite?

People saying it's not the time to quit & etc.

While I see your point, you also have to think, what will get Jagex's proper attention to it's community other than a mass of people quitting?
Loss of players would (if the company is doing things correctly) start an inquiry as to why, and then they'd see clans were the issue because we have a system dating back to 2012, where it was great - but now the dust has settled for many years and we are ignored, thrown into the ditch where lots of other stuff is.
It's a real shame, but it just seems to be how it is.

While I've thought that the time needed to cap each week should be reduced for some time (and said as much on CLF), citadel boosters aren't a good solution.

Perhaps they really were trying to do something nice for clans. I don't know. But offering boosters through SGS isn't the proper way to do it.

The thought has crossed my mind today that maybe we approached asking for clan improvements in the wrong way in years past. We tried making requests here and on RuneLabs. It didn't occur to me to ask what the cost of a clan permission rewrite etc was in Loyalty Points or Rune coins.

If players buy these things, I wonder if we can expect to see more overpriced clan "perks" on SGS. That would be annoying to say the least. On the other hand, if they don't sell, what's the chance we'll be told that the response for these was low, so there must not be much demand for clan content after all.

The frustration and disappointment continues.

I think clans was one of the last things not tainted by MTX now that day has come its not looking promising in here.

We've reached the point of if we want updates we have to pay for it.

Challenge gems i consider part of this, while not directly a clan update so to speak its definitely an item with massive potential for clans, communities and fc's alike and an idea that has been popular amongst clans for years.

For once, I agree with Andras.

The probation system nearly killed our clan. Instead of pushing people to stay, it forced people out. We had a split between our PvM players and our Citadel players. The result was not enough people interested in the Citadel so it was locked, so our Citadel people left. Then, because there weren't enough players to effectively PvM against newer content like Raids, our PvM players left too. We're practically dead in the water right now :|

My clan leader told me when I took the representative job on CLF that I'd constantly find rejection to ideas, controversy, and lack of communication between players and jagex, but this is just ridiculous.

It doesnt matter what we say, no matter what we do nothing is going to come out of it.

The only productive thing we do now is count hoping that other jmods dont catch us!

Rarely do I read a thread on the CLF and agree with every reply. (Well nearly)

I find none of you patronising on any level. Its been a pleasure that as a body of people we are singing from the same hymn sheet.

Consentus is not in any danger of dying I am happy to say, but I become increasingly more frustrated with the way the whole game is becoming AFK. To generate any conversation at times is like pulling teeth, and often have a conversation with myself, when someone chirps up "sorry I was afk, watching a film or even more common playing another game.

Clans have been neglected more and more, I think Jagex see no revenue in them, so why waste time on them?

I still cannot see the point in the cool off period, this was to me where the lack of understanding with running a clan started.

Clan mutes, are vital to me, or find a way to temporarily kick a member as a short term ban.

Citadels? Its been made crystal clear they have no intention of extending plots, we have now a complete Maxed Citadel, so now what? As a Clan, we never have events inside the Citadel, theatre , battle field have never or rarely used. Why would the Clan gather to cap and have events? The rewards are minimal and the way the game become easier/ quicker again what is the point? When Citadels first arrived we all capped and enjoyed working together.

Does anyone use the jobs on the Clan ranks apart from the Avatar warden?

As for the Clan Cup, once again we couldnt muster a team, the attitude us why bother when the high rank Clans will always have the advantage.

The game becomes more based on favourtism, where Jmods have Clans and promote their own clans and the people within them, much the same as FC where the majority of ranks will have Pmod status. The smaller run clans are falling by the wayside and are neglected, where the owners feel frustrated with the interest shown in them.
Proud to say Clan Consentus is now 13 Years old and still going strong.
