Am I a lone voice in not disliking the new system ?

We have had a most successful few weeks of recruiting, with a lot of new members who all guested with us through varying degrees of the 7 day cool down period (following some exceptionally successful hati/skoll clan events).

As a citadel clan, we do expect citadel visits/capping from members, but be it a 7 days citadel probation or a 7 days of guesting in clan, those new members are equally as welcome. We did use the probation period as a ranking tool, but still use the 7 days in clan before promotion up from recruit, so this is not as easy as it was to tell, but is not really a problem for us.
My clan has also seen more influx of clan activity, quite the opposite of what I had expected.

but we are keen to see further improvements and enhancements to the process as it stands. We will also continue to monitor the metrics we have placed around Clan joining, leaving, returning and new players
That is why this thread wont work, that sounds like you're not willing to remove the 7 day wait, making this thread a waste of space for those who want an entirely different system. (almost everyone against this system)

I don't want to sound rude here, but we're not getting a different system (right now). It should be everclear most of us want to move forward with this one. And we're all still trying to find ways to make it more accomadable for players like yourself who don't like it as it currently exists. Can you be tolerant awhile, and open to ideas to improve on this new implementation before completely writing it off?

nope :) Improving this is like improving a piece of poo, how does one improve a piece of poo?

To make it more 'accomadable', the 7 days has to go. But if jagex isn't willing to acknowledge that, then they clearly didn't read the 972 posts in the previous thread.

I've lost track of the amount of CLFers who have pm'd me over the past 2 days, to show their disgust at this update, and are considering giving up on this forum.

You are just plain rude. A lot of clannies don't mind this update, sure it need a bit of tweaking but the jmods have said they are willing to so maybe instead of behaving like a spoiled brat who wants chocolate milk and not strawberry, maybe attempt to come up with some solutions to make it better. :)

I'd like to state that I appreciate the effort to further explain why this change took place, and to offer a chance to make suggestions.

I do have a couple of questions I'd like to ask before making suggestions, to help further understand what types of suggestions would be feasible.

Why is it a criteria that there be a wait for the avatar buff beyond the previous 2 days to collect orts? Is it just to punish people who leave clans? It doesn't have a hidden clan benefit as immediate capping or immediate access to clan cup competition as far as i can see.

Why is clan hopping such a horrible problem that this is being addressed over the many, many problems clans have asked to be addressed in the past? Clan hoppers are annoying I agree, but is it something all of us as clan leaders haven't learned to deal with fairly easily?

I would truly appreciate an answer from a j-mod if it isn't too much to ask.

Zyphix and Sookie, I would ask that you cut J4ron a little slack. He is passionate about this because he truly cares for the people in his clan, and for the clan's survival, and he believes this update threatens that.

His thread was locked, which effectively closed down the only CLF avenue to express concern and share ideas and yes, vent a little about this update. I can understand his frustration.

Again, I believe everyone in this forum is here because they are good, strong, effective clan leaders who care about their clans. They've invested time, energy and heart 100 times over. While we don't always see eye to eye, we do share that.

Yes I understand that he is upset about the update but there is no reason to be rude. I am sorry if I came across as being harsh but the jmods made this thread as a courtesy and posting such things as what he did demeans everything they do for us. They are trying to make things better by allowing us to make suggestions to improve the update. They don't have to change anything but they are willing to compromise so long as certain requirements are met.

We are all passionate about our clan but that is not an excuse for being rude and that was not the only post I have read of his that was rude. I actually stopped reading his thread because of the tone and flaming contained within.

The only problem I see with this update is of inactive members being kicked and not being able to join a clan for a whole week once coming back to Runescape. Especially if they have been inactive for over a year or so.
