I had no idea it was being used for anything other than looking for founders.

If people are using it for something else, they are doing the wrong thing, it serves a specific purpose & it makes perfect sense to have a forum reserved for that.

Perhaps what you are after is a new forum?

Why create a new forum when you can just make better use of the already existing one.

Blame the rule, not the moderation.

It's not the fault of the Forum Mods who take action against people misusing the thread. When someone reports rule breaking to Forum Help, the Mods have to abide by the guidelines set for them. The first post makes it pretty clear that the thread is solely for the purpose of finding people to found a clan with, not for finding any members for an already existing clan.

If you are looking for people to help you found a clan, stop right here! Please use this thread to find other founders who want to form a clan.

This thread is NOT to find new clan members - rather, it is for players to find others to create a new clan with.

In spite of that, I do agree that there should be a separate thread where people can post seeking leadership roles for already existing clans. The best reason I have for this is for clans that are trying to revive themselves. I've witnessed a few scenarios where someone posted on the forums saying they were one of the only active members in their clan after returning from a break and are now trying to revive their old clan, but lack the required leadership to do so.

Of course there are other reasons, not to mention people will still continue to use the Looking for Founders? thread incorrectly if one is not created, but that's just one that I have to support it. ~ Sicariu

What Ranny wished to do has no place in the Looking for Founders forum.

Having a forum for people looking for founders is perfectly reasonable, it's how I found people all those years ago.

It serves a specific purpose, & it works.

To randomly say "Oh & let us use it for this other thing too just because" is so stupid.

I understand if he wants a new forum.

Wanting to post things other than looking for founders in the Looking For Founders forum is so stupid.

Have you actually read the post? Don't spew nonsense if you can't even grasp the slightest of what people on here suggest.

He clearly points out he'd like a separate thread on LFC for existing clans to look for leaders.

In my personal opinion, I agree with you. I think the forums could be doubled up, and it'd be easier then say creating a new forum. (What would it be called anyway...Looking-for-Founders-But-Only-Founders-For-Established-Clans?)

Makes more sense to double up.
Yet either way, new Forum or Rule change, one or the other I strongly believe has to happen.
To give poor Tren a vacation. :P

I think I see where the misunderstanding lies, in your eyes recruiting someone for a certain rank to an existing clan is recruiting a founder?

I would have thought a founder relates to starting a clan.

I don't see a problem with the moderation. It's fair and I appreciate how people seeking other people to found a clan can do so on that thread, without having to compete with people posting about something the thread title doesn't encompass.

However, I do see your point about not having a space to recruit for clan ranks. In that case I think your rant can become more focused by complaining about the lack of this space, as opposed to the moderation itself. I would support a separate thread for people posting and seeking clan leadership positions within a pre-existing clan.
