A "Looking for Staff" thread could not go in that forum section as LFC is for players to advertise that they are looking for a clan, not for an existing clan to advertise they want to recruit staff - those threads should probably be in the normal clan recruitment areas but that hits other issues.

I'll raise it with Mod Kalaya and see what we can do about it but that is not likely to result in a change soon as I go on holiday for 2 weeks later today.

I don't see a problem with the moderation. It's fair and I appreciate how people seeking other people to found a clan can do so on that thread, without having to compete with people posting about something the thread title doesn't encompass.

However, I do see your point about not having a space to recruit for clan ranks. In that case I think your rant can become more focused by complaining about the lack of this space, as opposed to the moderation itself. I would support a separate thread for people posting and seeking clan leadership positions within a pre-existing clan.

I can see how what I wrote comes off as a bit of a rant.

I have addressed this before, on here, on other forums, repeatedly. Previously all my attempts for something to be reversed or a new forum to be created failed. So I have been watching page after page as moderators remove posts, and I even know some of the people who had it happen. Needless to say I've grown tired of it, it's 100% ridiculous.

Also, I said in bold lettering I do not blame the moderators whatsoever. They are only doing their job. I do, if we're assigning blame, blame the rule and think it should be revoked. Or otherwise a solution, such as a separate Pinned thread, should be launched as soon as possible.

Honestly i dont have a problem getting help in my clan so i dont really see the problem on this post.

Well Good for you Sunshine. ^_^

........

I'm not entirely being sarcastic, I really do congratulate you on having phenomenal clan members. Sadly, not everyone can say the same. Nor do some have as many to choose from.

Enjoy your Holiday Matthe. :)

I am open to hearing the ideas of others, but, respectfully, I think a separate forum would have to go in that section. Perhaps it could represent a single exception.

Alternatively, the best option in my head would be to have multiple threads for this under each Clan genre Forum section. But that's a lot of extra work and quite frankly seems silly versus a small revision.

By Clan genres/sections. I mean:

100+ CB section,

Quests section,

And so on. If desperate clans are to receive adequate attention then they would have to advertise in...

A. Places where people go. (Like nobody goes to Clan Home for example)

B. A forum section best representing their clan. The LFC section acts as a huge melting pot for all types, so clearly if it was there this would be irrelevant.

I personally hope this isn't a shutdown, with the underlining message under the sympathy being: Unfortunately, rules are rules. However I'll take you at your word regarding Mod Kalaya and the rest. Thanks again Matthe, and have a safe trip.

Forum is still open IMO. :)

Ranny I think you haven't understood what founding means.
It's for starting clans.

There's no association between what you want & the Looking For Founders thread.

Someone said you were clear you wanted this bla bla bla but I mean your pics of the moderation claiming they are in any way not appropriate sort of speaks further to your not understanding the term 'founders'.

That's what I didn't understand, why you were associating what you wanted with the LFF in any way, it has nothing to do with it.

I also think having a sticky of this nature in the looking for a clan forum could harm those who are looking for founders.

Could a new thread be pinned in the Clan Central forums ?

Existing clans already go there looking for help on clan related matters, and thats where the CLF and inactive clan leader posts are.

I understand what founding means.

I have repeatedly said I don't blame Tren or other Mods for doing their job. Because of said rule. It has nothing to do with whether it's appropriate, it is, it's a rule.

I do not think the rule should exist. Or if it simply must, then a different thread ought to be made. The pictures I have are demonstrating all of these clan leaders being turned away from the founders thread.

I am simply depicting the problem I am seeing. For those not sure of what I am talking about.

As for why I am associating with it, perhaps this might explain why:

Founders = People looking to found a brand new clan.

The truth is, many of these people are more then happy to sign onto a
Brand new established clan
, thus why you typically see owners of small 15~ member clans or whatnot posting. There is very little difference. Rebuilding clans starting completely over are, but in reality look just like a new clan as well.

This has been the case since forever. It is an association, even if it once wasn't, due to the consistent posts of small time clan owners.

Hence,
I believe a different thread in an entirely different forum section would be completely overlooked.

A "Looking for clan staff" thread next to a "LFF" thread does sound strange.

So if you and others think it would be confusing or damaging, revoke the current rule on the Founders Forum.

I would like to point out, it didn't always exist. And things were relatively fine. Founders still founded clans, small clans found good leaders. If you think for a moment that huge clans don't already try to snipe people from the LFF, you're kidding yourself.

I keep my eye on it all the time, just in case I see a friend or someone skilled show up.

@Cuddlebucket

I hope some of this explains my train of thought. And I understand if you disagree.

@ Kera

Perhaps....I would only agree if a link to said thread was found in say Mod Kalaya's first post on the "LFF" forum. Because like I said to Cuddle, there is an association there by default. You will almost certainly have to direct or let potential Staff members know for established clans they have to go there...to an entirely different section.

I'm seeing a common trend with clans these days that they're in need of people to serve as admins. I'm rather curious, so I'd like to ask the following questions. These go out to every clan leader that's looking for admins, not just Ranny:

1. What are you looking for in particular for admins? i.e., what is your clan "missing" that it needs admins for? Does it need warm bodies to be on? Chat moderators? Event organizers? Citadel managers? Advisory council? Someone to use the chat very often? Be specific , don't just say "all of the above."

2. Would you be willing to take on an admin who is not physically in-game much ("Ghost-Admin" ), but easy to contact offsite? (Discord, Twitter, etc...)

3. Would you be willing to forgo entry requirements and mandatory citadel capping if someone was willing to volunteer to assist in clan admin work?
