Now I want to remake Daralt
and
Kingdoms of Karrus.
If
people are interested in them, that is. So far I haven't gotten a lot of feedback
I think you probably saw some of it when you were first around the forums, but back in the day on the RPD it was everyone's favourite pastime to completely ignore any introductions that were posted up on here for review/interest gathering, (back in those days, there was enough competition that people had to test the waters first.) That's mostly because the people who posted on the RPD didn't actually roleplay, they just used it as a social corner, which lead to it getting unstickied for a good number of months.

Also I only just brought up the idea today and not a lot of people have been on to offer an opinion.
I think Azi liked it, and I think I remembered Wasted being a fan as well despite our arguments, although he has been gone for a while now. Venom was another participant, but sadly he's gone as well. Yeah, most of the participants in the original Kingdoms of Karrus are either gone or not very active.

Loaned Shark was always big on those sorts of threads, but I think his capacity for multiple roleplays is somewhat non-existent. I've been on these forums ten years and I've never been on that sort of roleplay, somehow. I'm like that guy who claims veteran benefits when he spent his entire life in the reserves.

If Jagex created an App that notified you everytime someone posted on a thread you were actively following.
But sadly that is only really useful for Roleplayers and Forum Gamers. They wouldn't create a brand new app for so few people.

You should go on over to the
Website and Forums
subforum and see the dozens of threads that are compilations of useful ideas Jagex could implement that would make the forums more popular, more easy to access, etc. etc. The reality of it is that the forum software is over ten years old, and going onto a completely new coding system would wipe out every thread on the forums as it is. And they won't update these forums because Jagex themselves don't use them anymore. They go on the Runescape subreddit for feedback, give sneak peaks on twitter, release news letters on youtube, etc. The Runescape Forums is the absolute last place they would ever look for player interaction.
Well, I guess social media was bound to take over eventually.
Anyways, when you said you were going to post 'soon' does soon mean today, or within the next few days? I'm not trying to rush you or anything, just wondering if I should stick around and wait for the post or not.

I'm not going to lie to you Lasky, I probably won't be awake enough to finish my post should I start it now. Which means it will definitely be tomorrow, somewhat later on because I have to nip back to my university digs. I am of course humbled by your commitment to the cause.

Also, I hope you don't mind me robbing Cirion the chance of having a heroic sacrifice. He's a good character and I realised that he is in the unique position of actually being able to handle Team Evil, as it were.
Totally fine. I was actually cool with whatever fate he received. I just didn't want him to fade away into obscurity or go down without a fight.

So I decided to revisit the religion section of Into the Fire, to see if there were any clues and also refresh myself on the lore.

For centuries there was peace, until a man named Arran, angered by the destruction of the gods, rose up to fight them. However, Soahc gave his godhood to Arran so that he could re-enter **gelain and cause mischief again, and Arran was sealed away by Janus for being a god; though he is planning on regaining mortality again.
I have to say that Arran is a bit of an idiot here. I mean, the war ended hundreds of years ago, things were peaceful, and suddenly Arran appears and gets angry over a conflict that resolved way before he was born? So he starts another war, and then Soahc gives him godhood.
Now this begs the question: can you force godhood on someone else in this universe? Did Arran accept godhood willingly, from Soahc no less, despite his hatred of gods? Maybe he didn't know he would be sealed away, or maybe he thought he could take on Janus. I mean, this is the same guy who handed god powers to a ten year old girl. He is clearly not the most responsible individual.
But I think there is more to the story.
Puts on tinfoil hat.
Arran represents freedom, right? And Soahc represents chaos. Yet both freedom and chaos are byproducts of each other - you can't have one without the possibility of the other. Soahc can't directly enter the world and start stirring up conflicts, so he would have to get a mortal to do it for him.
And real life history has shown time and time again that humans are always willing to fight against oppression if you give them someone to rally behind. That someone was Arran. He got a bunch of humans to believe that the gods were tyrants, and it is most likely that other humans disagreed with him, so there's your conflict.
(continued)
