"I don't have a hard time believing that Matt. After all when we first meet you did threaten to kill me on the spot." said Rhen. "But that was in the past. And yes.......I did say it would be nice to have a family. I think that if I had one I could better understand the human condition and learn more about your people Matt. But..........With how I am now..........I thought my odds were slim before.....but with this infection..........the odds are now next to zero by my calculations. But I am not worried about that right now. What worries me is that once all this is over, if we succeed that is, and when our little group disbands..........without you all around.......and with my infection.......what will happen to my sanity?"

"I thank you for your words, Matthew," Forlirn said, bowing his head slightly in a slow nod. "What I'm trying to say is... well, keep your eyes open. If I know anything about Nrilgroth, he will exploit whatever weaknesses you have to their fullest extent, quite possibly without you even realizing it. Question what you see, for it may very well be the difference between life and madness. As for peace... I'll have peace when I bury my claws in Nrilgroth's heart."
Caelidorus blinked a few times, his eyes seeming blurry and out of focus. Soon however he shook his head, his gaze focusing on Matt. "...It's nothing. I just had the oddest dream last night... Guess it left my head swimming."

"Yeah, I remember actually trying to think about ways that I could make your death appear to be an accident of sorts. God I was foolish back then. Anyway, I still believe that you could find a family somewhere. I believe there are many who could see past your rather rough exterior and see your very kind interior. I think if anyone could see inside of you, they would be happy with what they saw. As for when our group disbands, that doesn't mean that we will never speak to each other again. I bet Forlirn and his brothers will stick together and Caelidorus and I will keep in contact with one another. There's no reason that you couldn't do the same thing." Matt said.
"You are quite welcome Forlirn. I just wanted you to know how I felt incase one of us does not make it out of the ruins alive. I will try to think about my weaknesses and how Nrilgroth could exploit them. For example, I have, as you probably are well aware of by now, a terrible temper. I can easily become infuriated with just about anyone. That would be easy to exploit. You will have an option to witness Nrilgroth's death. I am sure of it." Matt replied.
Matt then turned his attention to Caelidorus and laughed weakly. "Heh, join the club. It seems as though everyone is having odd dreams tonight. For curiousities sake, what did you happen to dream last night? If it was anything like the dream Forlirn and I had, then I can't blame you for feeling disoriented." Matt said.

"I will relish the day when this finally ends, even if the end is bitter," Forlirn sighed. "I have devoted centuries of my life to the sole purpose of defeating Nrilgroth... The toll it has taken on my mind... my body... my very life... It is enough to define my very existence. I wish to finally live for myself... Perhaps, on some incredibly low chance, find a mate... I would certainly enjoy raising hatchlings in the knowledge they will not be hunted for their bloodline..."
"It was the oddest thing..." Caelidorus said, blinking slowly. "I was heading the Tempest army for a great battle... We got to the battle field, and we were immediately assaulted by a great force of cabbages. It... It was a massacre. They had us by complete surprise. I called the retreat... but it was a mistake. I did not know it, but the cabbages had replaced the brains of everybody with another cabbage. They were all... zombies, controlled by the cabbages. They surrounded me... there was nothing I could do... I fought, killing enemy and brother alike... but they overwhelmed me... overwhelmed us all..."

"But like before Matt......your people tend to only be able to see the outside of a person rather than the inside. What they might perceive as beauty on the outside......that person could be ugly on the inside and they wouldn't find that out until it was too late. The exterior of a person is easier to see compared to the inside. Although I am a kind person on the inside.......on the outside I am a monster. If anyone could get past the mixture of flesh, metal and whatever else this is that makes up my outward appearance, then i would be proven wrong. But for the most part, even before this mutation, your people still saw me as a monster." said Rhen. "You may be right though Matt. There might be someone out there in the world who can see past my rough exterior and see what is inside me. But until that day comes and until after we defeat our foe........I see no possibility of it happening to me."
"What did you eat before you went to bed? It could quite possibly be something you ate that could have made you have that dream." said Rhen.

"I doubt I will relish the day the war comes to an end if it results in everyone dying. I know you've been fighting for hundreds of years, but I am not yet at the point where I can say I would be happy with our defeat. But I appreaciate what you are saying. It must be rough having to spend the past five or six centuries focusing solely on the war. I hope you end up with a family of your own somewhere Forlirn. I expect you will retire to somewhere deep in the wilderness. After all, tensions are continuing to rise everywhere in Neuva and I assume in Elune." Matt said.
"That's... odd.... very odd." Matt began. "Did you eat something that the rest of us didn't eat? I say this because my dream involved me being killed by a true one. It had nothing to do with zombies or cabbages."
"You are too rough on yourself Rhen. I would never consider you to be a monster. I think you should start to look at yourself in a more positive light. You are getting nowhere by accusing yourself of such things. I can promise you that there is someone out there who is willing to overlook your exterior flaws and see the kind person who lies below." Matt replied.

"There isn't really much wilderness left to live in," Forlirn said with a sigh. "Wherever a dragon goes, humans will one day move in... and most likely chase the dragons out. My current cave was in the wilderness... yet now it overlooks a thriving city. If I wanted to live away from humans, I would have to live somewhere like here where humans will likely never live. And then there's always the chance of other dragons showing up..."
"I... don't think so..." Caelidorus said, tilting his head in thought. "I certainly don't recall eating anything strange. And I didn't eat any mushrooms either, since I recalled Forlirn mentioning something about strange mushrooms..."

"But it is still possible for you to live away from other humans. I would recommend that you do that. Remember that city we went to in order to pick up supplies? The one that was friendly towards dragons? Well that city is becoming more and more divided between pro-human and pro-dragon groups. I wouldn't be surprised if there was a war in the near future. But why would you be concerned if you ran into other dragons. I can understand being concerned about running into humans, but you are also a dragon, so there shouldn't be a problem." Matt said.
"Hmm... maybe it is just your nerves getting the better of you. We are going into what is arguably the most dangerous situation of our lives. I can't explain why you are dreaming about cabbages though. To be honest, that is just strange." Matt replied.

"Let me put it to you this way," Forlirn began, slowly standing to stretch as he spoke. "When humans and dragons mix, it usually results in war between the humans and the dragons. When humans mix with humans without dragons around, it often results in wars between humans. Now think about dragons encountering dragons without human involvement. Humans can find differences to fight over and they're all the same species. Dragons... well, we're not even all the same species. And most of us are territorial beyond human comprehension. Fighting is almost inevitable... And if there's an established clan... Well, I think you can imagine what might happen."
"Well how should I know?" Caelidorus asked somewhat loudly, seeming to be a bit flustered. "I've never had strange dreams about evil food items murdering my family. And if anybody suggested I one day would, I would probably have questioned their sanity."

"War is always inevitable. Humans fight over everything from what I have seen in my travels. Resources, land, and many other things. When it comes to dragons I am unsure as I have not been able to observe them and watch them. Truth be told, You and the others are the only dragons I have ever gotten close to and have been able to observe. But them again this isn't exactly the way dragons really are. After our brief visit to the soulbound, I wish I could observe dragons a learn more about them and their culture as I have been able to observe humans." said Rhen.
