"It feels like an ancient but without a... signature. Each ancient has a specific feel to it which allows us to sense one another from afar. The Void feels like such a signature but it corresponds to no ancient. At least, none I know of," Umbra frowned, shaking his head. "Regardless, I would suggest you test your precautions here rather than use them without any preparation. It would seem you know of ways to bring the Void's energies here to some extent so you should be able to test them to some degree."

Emperor Romanos glanced at the clock on his desk. It had been 45 minutes since the broadcast. Time was halfway to being up. He stood up from his desk and went to the giant (bulletproof) glass window overlooking the old district of the city. Even from his vantage point, he could see the chaotic fighting. So far, much of the city remained quiet, but the fact that any of the city was in this situation was of great annoyance to him.

"Angelos." He said, indicating the Captain of the Palace Guard and his most loyal defender. Angelos stepped toward the Emperor. "Yes, great one?" He asked. Romanos looked back towards the man. "I want you to gather a squad of the guard. Evacuate my daughter and grandchildren to our Elunian cities. The Imperial line must continue, even after what is to come." Romanos said. "Yes, my lord. Although, I feel it is my duty to request that you join us. The people will need you." Angelos replied. "No." Romanos said, sharply. His gaze returned to the city. "In a short time, the world and everyone in it will die. These deaths are on my hand. If I am to condemn my people to death, I will die alongside them." He paused. "I am in a unique position. I hold the fate of both worlds in my hands. If I do not cancel my order, billions on both worlds will die. I am glad that I am not the goddess. I do not think I could bear to have this power for too long." There was a pause, as if Romanos was expecting Angelos to speak. "Is there anything else, Great One?" He finally asked. "Only this. Tell the palace staff and all who you encounter that they may evacuate to Elune if they wish. I would not have them die for me if they do not wish it." "I understand. Fairwell, my Emperor. May the goddess watch over you." "May she watch over you as well Angelos. I wish you the best of luck in this new world we are entering." Angelos left.

It was at that moment that the phone rang. Romanos went to his desk and answered it. "Yes?" He asked.

The mysterious invaders would continue to be bogged down by constant attacks from all directions. Hidden machine guns and gun pieces would open fire at the enemy from seemingly random places. Mines on the street that had been placed years ago and only just activated would explode under their feet as they ran over it. The invaders would clear a house only to find themselves cut off as dozens of soldiers came from said house and cut off the enemies line of retreat. Any dragons or other winged beings that dared to take to the skies would be fired on from dozens of guns on the rooftops of the city.

Sporadic attacks would continue throughout Glaruindem. As word of what was happening outside of the city spread, several Imperial spies took it upon themselves to retaliate in anyway they could. Multiple squads escorting civilians from the city were suddenly torn apart by gunfire as human soldiers showed their true loyalties. The soldiers turned on the crowds, firing into said crowds. Other squads escorted civilians into a building, apparently because of a threat to their wellbeing. The building would then be destroyed by explosives or flamethrowers and the survivors shot. The actual Imperial soldiers in the city mostly kept to their posts. They took the opportunity to resupply and get some rest.
Heinrich, unaware of what the spies were doing, ordered a group of three men to approach the enemy lines with a white flag. The battle was lost. Even though his soldiers were in better shape then they had been, it was only a matter of time until his army was grinded down into nothing. The only thing he could do was attempt to offer terms for his men.

"I'm not sure I understand." Matt said. "Are you saying that Soul is worried about something and you are somehow feeling this? Surely it is nothing serious. What could worry a dragon god that is the size of a mountain? Whatever it is, I hope it won't interfere with our attempt to go through with this ritual."
