"I'm relatively certain that the mountains are not glaciers," Forlirn said. "They may be frozen, but I remember them being made of stone rather than of ice."
"Ah. Well, as I believe I've said before, history really isn't much of an interest to me," Caelidorus replied. "When it comes to obtaining knowledge that might help me, I'm interested, but otherwise I don't really care a great deal. What others have done in the past doesn't concern me if it doesn't help me deal with the future."
"I hardly think betting will mean anything for us," Caelidorus said, chuckling. "After all, we use two different systems of currency that, to my knowledge, cannot be exchanged for one another."
"I really don't know," Forlirn said, shrugging. "After the things I've seen in my lifetime, many of which were supposedly impossible by the very laws of physics, little would be able to surprise me."
He paused, squinting slightly.
"But I don't think it matters much, as I do believe I see the coast in the distance..."
