"I would appreciate that Matt. It is better to sit around the fire where it will be some-what warm rather than sitting in the snow half frozen." said Rhen.
"Do you know where we can get some wood up here Forlirn?" asked Rhen as he looked over to Forlirn.

"You probably could; you certainly seem pragmatic enough," Caelidorus admitted. "But the race of one's birth isn't one's choice, even though many seem to treat others as if it were... though I wouldn't say all of the clan completely agrees with our beliefs. The scholars in particular seem to have their own ideas about how things should be, though most of us find them strange and nonsensical..."
"Bah, of course a Neuvian would have no use for a dragon's scales," Caelidorus snorted. "In Elune, dragon scales are valuable treasures among humans. Few armors can match those made out of dragon scales, and the fact that most dragons are magical creatures with inborn magical abilities makes such armor ideal for holding permanent enchantments. Of course, it would be unwise to enter Tempest territory with Tempest scales no matter how you obtained them..."
"Bah, this is deep..." Caelidorus muttered, eying the snow now partly covering his paws. "Not to mention cold... Not that I mind cold, but this is too cold..."
"I don't believe there is wood up here," Forlirn replied, unconsciously scratching at a thick, faded scar encircling part pf the upper portion of his neck. "Aside from the few scraggly bushes that can survive these mountains, there is little to no plant life. Only wood I've ever found is frozen driftwood at the shore."
"I know a way to get rid of the snow!" Frilarth exclaimed, trotting over. "Although you'd all need to brace yourselves so you don't get blown away, cause that would certainly be bad and not be something that we want, though it might be slightly fun to get blown away, unless you landed somewhere painful, which most of our surroundings look like."

"If it helps to make our stay for the night more enjoyable then go for it Frilarth. If ti clears the snow away then I am fine with it." said Rhen. "And don't worry about sending me flying. I have Forlirn here to keep me from flying away anywhere."
~I would be fun to get flung back by a dragon if I had my wings. But they are still frozen right now and will still most likely be frozen until we leave the north and find a warmer place to stay.~ thought Rhen,

"That is very true. I'm proud to be human, but even if I wanted to be a dragon, there is no possible way for such a thing to occur. Besides, it wouldn't feel right to change my race after having already been born as a human. But I digress, what sort of ideas have your scholars come up with?" Matt asked.
"Heh, if I came into your territory with several Tempest scales then I would be asking for whatever punishments were inflicted upon me. I suppose the only thing I could use your scales as a sort of trophy. I bet there would be many people in Neuva who would be happy to see me if they saw I had dragon scales in my possession." Matt said.
"I've got Caelidorus at my back so I should be ok Frilarth," Matt replied. <Lets see what Frilarth has managed to think up this time.>

Frilarth nodded a few times before taking off in flight again, circling the group a few times. He then descended slightly before hovering for a moment or two before starting to buffet the area with blasts of wind from his large wings, blowing the snow away. The many birds that had been perching on him scattered, flying back toward the coast.
"Oh, they're often concerned with making our society more individualistic and abolishing many of our practices," Caelidorus snorted. "Of course, they're quite quick to ignore the fact that the war we are has made us powerful and that what they want to change would simply benefit them rather than the entire clan."
"Heh, but I doubt they would recognize them," Caelidorus said with a smirk. "In Elune, Tempest scales would be recognizes fairly quickly, at least on this continent. Here however, we're not exactly well known, so few would realize how difficult it is to obtain such an item."
Caelidorus blinked a few times, lowering his head slightly to lessen the buffeting. <...Not a bad idea...>

"Heh, they aren't even hiding that they want more power then they've currently got. You're the leader of the Tempests. Why don't you tell them that the job of the scribes is to record history, not to tell you what they think is wrong with society? Sometimes you've got to be blunt in order to get your point across." Matt said.
"Well I don't think people in Neuva will care what type of dragon the scales are from. To most people, all that will matter is that i've got a bunch of dragon scales. Most people will just assume I fought a dragon and killed it. Thus I am a hero in the eyes of the people." Matt replied, returning the smirk.
The buffeting caught Matt off guard. Before he could react, he was blown off of his feet and straight into Caelidorus. Since the distance was only a couple of feet there were no injuries. Matt laughed. <Ha, this would actually be fun if I could have been thrown into a lake or pile of snow instead of into you.>

Rhen had braced himself against Forlirn. The idea was what Rhen had expected. It was a smart idea as long as there wasn't a blizzard to burry them as they rested. But then again, for Rhen it would not matter as he planned to go to Elune as the others slept.
~Might as well make the stay comfortable for those who are staying here for the night.~ thought Rhen.

"Oh, they know what their task is and they carry it out," Caelidorus replied. "Because they know that if they didn't carry out their task then they wouldn't be part of the Tempest much longer. While they may be annoying, they're not actually doing anything against the clan."
"Aren't you already known as some sort of dragon slayer?" Caelidorus asked, raising a scaly eyeridge. "A handful of scales would hardly make you seem heroic if you're already known to slay dragons. In fact, I think others would just think you're gloating about it."
Caelidorus blinked a few times, tilting his head as he looked down at Matt.
<What, am I less fun to be knocked into than a pile of snow or leaves?>
Frilarth soon finished and landed on the rocky (though still cold) soil below, having succeeded in mostly clearing away the snow.

"That you know of anyway." Matt replied. "If they were planning to do something then I doubt they would make it easy for you to catch on to their intentions. Doing so would be very counterproductive to their plans."
"Maybe i'm known among dragonslaying organizations, but I doubt the average person would know much of me. Even then, most dragonslayers probably know me as the person that could have had it all but threw it all away at the last moment. Hell, if they saw me riding you, they'd probably think I was doing it out of spite. But as for the average person, the only reason they would know of me is because I got interviewed for our media organizations a couple of times. That was years ago though so I doubt anyone would remember." Matt said.
<Not at all. But a pile of leaves or snow is much softer. As such, I could be thrown with much greater force into them without getting injured. Plus there's also the fact you've got horns all over your body. I don't think landing on one of them would be the most enjoyable experience...>

"Well you all might as well get some rest while you can. As for me I am about to head to Elune. I need to do something to pass the time until morning and the only thing I can think of is learn more about the void. Unless you want me to stand guard as I useually do that is." said Rhen as he stretched his arm.
