<Bah, of course I'd have eaten all of it by then, whatever it is. It sounds most delicious... and I couldn't let Nrilgroth have it, now could I? To let him have anything as tasty as... erm... something tasty... would be a crime against nature itself! No, it must only be for me! And maybe you too, since I have no idea what I'm supposed to be stealing and eating. Until I steal your share, of course.>
Forlirn slowly turned his head about, gazing upon the broken city, his expression a mixture of apprehension and melancholy. He was silent for several minutes, allowing the others to take in the sight of the ruined city before speaking in a low voice, turning his head toward what may have once been the heart of the city.
"...It is there where the feeling is strongest... I ventured only partly there, so I know not what lies beyond."
Despite the silence of the secluded cavern, a sense of whispering filled the air, heard not by the ears but with the mind. There was no sense to the whisperings... only a feeling of pleading and madness.
In the lands above the depths of the ruins, the sun was slowly setting beneath the horizon. Dusk had made its arrival.
