"That is true Rhen. The problem with that thought is that walking through the snow is quite difficult and slow. They won't be able to catch up or get ahead of us to set up an ambush. At the same time, they'd have to be pretty lucky to catch us on the way back considering there are many ways to get back to the ocean. But anyway, what I would like to know is how you heard about my opinion about that guys last comment. I could have sworn I was talking telepathically to Caelidorus." Matt replied.
((Might as well use that to introduce Matts abilities since Matt technically could have accidently sent that telepathically to Rhen.))

(( Sorry........I didn't see you only ment for it to be for Caelidorus. I quickly looked over your post. But your idea works fine as well. ))
"You sure? I could have sworn you mentioned it to me as well." said Rhen. "Perhaps I just imagined it. Or perhaps it could be a slight side effect of my condition. I don't know. Most likely it is my nerves. After all I am a bit excited about reaching the ruins. Maybe my excitement is making me hear things."

"Normally I would agree with you Rhen, but I am positive that I only said that comment telepathically. I can assure you that you didn't imagine it. I have no idea how you managed to pick up my telepathic comments, especially since no one else has been able to up until this point." Matt replied. "Do you know of any reason why that might be the case?"

<I have reasons for being interested. This sort of information might not affect the Tempest directly, but I do believe it could affect us indirectly. As a result, it could be useful to some extent, though I doubt I'll know how so until the occasion decides to present itself.>
"Hm, you do have a point there..." Caelidorus murmured, frowning. "But that's assuming they work alone. They might not be able to chase us, but they could probably alert others ahead with one of those devices you use in this world."
Caelidorus spread his wings, returning to the air shortly after Forlirn did so.
<Agreed... it's cold as hell up here... aside from the ruins, I think the cold might have the highest risk of death for us...>
((You'll need much more detail on the appearance, magic, and history sections if you wish to be accepted. I'll also need you to add information on the dragon type, as no such type exists yet.))

<I really don't see how this affects you in the slightest. The only way I can think of is if you are planning to invade us or perhaps if you plan on founding a city in Neuva. I can assure you that you do not want to even attempt invading us, but I think your clan may do quite well on Neuva if your intentions are the latter.>
"I never thought about that. I suppose they could use their phones to alert others deeper into the continent. Still, meeting us will require a lot of luck as they do not know where we are going or what route we are taking. Thus it would still require a lot of luck.
<Huh, you heard that too. That's odd as Rhen thinks he heard me say that as well. Anyway, we shouldn't have to worry about freezing to death as long as we use common sense. Keep your blanket on at all times and try to avoid getting wet and you should be fine.>

"I do not know. I am not as knowledgeable in the workings of telepathic communication as I am with other things. But perhaps........and this is only speculation........perhaps your ability to communicate to Caelidorus has grown and caused some minor mutation to your mind that allows you to speak with others. As I said......only speculation Matt. I could be wrong. It could be something else." said Rhen as he shrugged under his coat.

"That's an interesting thought Rhen. I think i'll ask Forlirn about this. If he can't hear us now then i'll wait till he lands. There's not much I can do until I figure out more aboout this. Anyway, back to what we were talking about before, I would focus your attention on the surface below while we are flying. While I think the odds are slim of us being ambushed by those men or others working with them, there is still a possibility. They are probably using some sort of camouflage to blend in with the snow if that is the case, so look for anything strange below." Matt replied.

<Oh, it could be useful for diplomatic reasons and the like, though it would have to be a particular set of circumstances. I really doubt we would have any reason to found a city. Virtually all of our strengths and fighting tactics would not work here, which would severely limit our combat ability. In addition, I haven't the faintest idea why we would have a reason to do so.>
"That's assuming they don't know where we're going," Caelidorus said with a low growl. "But if some of them heard us talking about our destination, they could already be there waiting for us."
<I'll try and do so. I doubt that we'll freeze to death, but I'm not quite fond of weather this cold... I just hope we find somewhere warmer to rest. A few weeks of this could drive me into a rather foul mood...>
"Slightly hard to not hear when Rhen's on my back," Forlirn commented. "Any sort of unintentional expansion on the magic I performed would be beyond my knowledge. 'Twould be the first time I've ever even heard of such a thing."

<Alright then. I didn't think you were planning on going to war with us, but I have to play things safe. I don't mind telling you anything about our culture and ways of being as long as I know that you don't plan to use them against us. You may be my friend, but I won't betray my people like that.>
"I doubt they would know which ruins we are referring to Caelidorus. It does not seem as though the existance of these ruins is common knowledge, so I doubt they would know where to ambush us at." Matt said.
<I have no idea where we will find anywhere warm this far north short of a research station. The problem is that they are usually small and thus probably not large enough for you to fit into. I guess we will have to deal with your bad moods. It's not like we haven't seen them before.>
"Hmm... I'll look into this the next time we are in Elune then. It's not important but my curiousity makes me want to find out why this is happening. My guess is that if I look in the right places in Elune, I can find someone or something that knows what might be happening." Matt replied.
