"I suppose you are right Rhen. There are enough of us to face a threat outside of perhaps a true one. We'd need an army to take a true one down." Matt replied
"I would have been surprised if something so minor was the worst threat your clan every faced Caelidorus." Matt replied. "Considering how much you seem to go to war, i'd say that is a bigger problem for your clan."
"If it comforts you to think that way then by all means do so." Matt said. "But won't you be devestated when you find out I do have a plan and you fell into my trap?"

"We're made to fight, and we're quite skilled at it," Caelidorus replied. "Very few of us would consider it to be a problem, though I will admit that our warlike methods have not exactly made us many friends throughout our existence."
"Not in the slightest," Caelidorus chuckled. "Because you truly don't have a plan aside from your attempts to defeat me in this battle of wordplay, which I've proven myself to be quite immune to."

"Have you heard of the famous saying that the enemy of my enemy is my friend? If that saying is true, then i'd say that there are a lot of friendships being formed between people around you. You may be built for fighting, but that doesn't mean your clan is invincible." Matt said.
"I'm still trying to figure out what gave you the idea that I have no plan other then the fact that i'm unwilling to share it with you. If I told you my plan then you would be able to find ways to counter it!" Matt replied.
"I have never been this far north before." Matt said. "Do you have any idea how long it will be until we reach the other continent? If it is a good length of time then we ought to land once we reach the other coast and not progress any further."

"That's why we are always at the ready for an assault," Caelidorus said. "And that's why we've formed our empire as it currently is. At one side we have the sea, and we've not made any enemies in the sea, and at the other side, save Glaruindem, we have a range of mountains which are quite impractical to cross for warring purposes. We are weakest in the south, so that's where we are most fortified, though we are also fortified elsewhere..."
"Which is just what you would say if you lacked a plan entirely," Caelidorus chuckled. "You're really not making a strong case for this mysterious plan of yours."
"We should reach it before sundown," Forlirn said, frowning lightly. "Unless of course Frilarth's seabirds have moved much farther inland than they used to be. However, I believe we'd be best setting up for the night before crossing over. The winds above the straight are wickedly cold, and the night air won't help warm them. It might take slightly longer, but we'll be better off in the long run."

"I guess I can see what you mean. I'm not one to think on the positive side of things though. I suppose i'll be neutral on the matter and say we can take down anything that opposes us but they can also easily take us down." Matt replied
"I'd still be keeping a close eye on the mountains and the seas. Just because it is hard to attack through them doesn't mean it is impossible. If an army crosses through the mountains then you could be in serious trouble. Wait a second, you said that you haven't made any enemies in the sea. Are you telling me there are nations of sea creatures in Elune?" Matt asked.
"That's good because that will mean I will be able to carry out my plan without you interfering. The fact that you don't believe me doesn't harm me at all. It only helps. The fact that i'm not making a strong case for my plan is part of my plan!" Matt said.
"Very well. You'd know what it's like up here better then I would so I have no problem with landing. When do you feel like landing Forlirn?" Matt asked.

~Great......another long night ahead of us then. Just what I need. Oh well....gives me more time to work on my void minipulation before coming in contact with the abyss. Might be my last chance to work with the void until afterwards.~ thought Rhen.

"As far as we know, no," Caelidorus said, shrugging lightly. "But that doesn't mean there are not, and that also doesn't mean there isn't anything beyond the sea. But we have done nothing to make enemies with either, so the sea should not be a problem, though we keep our eyes open for those who think the sea is a good point for a sneak attack. And we're hardly oblivious to the fact that mountains are not impermeable. An empire would be foolhardy to make such an assumption."
"Anything I say I will do about your plan is part of your plan," Caelidorus chuckled. "That way you can make it look like you're already winning. Except I realize that that is part of your plan, so there's not a chance of it working."
"Soon..." Forlirn said quietly. "...I'd say about when we see the water. We don't want to get too close, or we'll risk being whipped by the wind as we sleep."

"That's smart. Some of the most powerful empires have been defeated because they ignored one small part of their empire they didn't think was a threat. Have the Tempests ever lost a war Caelidorus? I find it hard to believe that you have never lost a single battle or war in your empires history." Matt said.
"You haven't said you were going to do anything about my plan! That means that I will be able to put my little plot together without you getting in the way. I'd say that would help my plan quite a bit!" Matt replied.
"Very well Forlirn. Just let us know when you feel it is safe to land. How long do you think that will be?" Matt asked.

"History isn't my strong point," Caelidorus replied. "The history of the Tempest is kept by the scholars, not by the warriors. During my lifetime, however, we have never lost a war, though I can't say the same applies to every battle we've waged."
"Yes, yes, go on with your talk," Caelidorus snorted, grinning. "I already told you that it won't work on me, and that means it's not going to work on me."
"Not more than an hour," Forlirn said, yawning widely. "If it is... well, then I've miscalculated... or the mountains moved farther north... though I doubt they would do that in a mere few centuries."
