"From what you have spoken of your people, they do sound as if they possess many similarities to my children," Umbra remarked, tone unchanging. "Albeit... more careful. The dragons of shadow hoarded knowledge and skill much in the way many dragons hoard gold, but they were... freer with it, in a sense. Not as if they went out to share and teach what they knew with other beings, but those who befriended them could learn a great deal. They also took no measures to remain hidden from or avoid other creatures, although they were generally unknown to most races of the world. Our civilization was crafted entirely within the bowels of the earth, the only great contact with another civilization being when they tunneled into Terra and encountered her children. Very few ever saw the light of the sun, yet few cities beneath its warming rays could match our prowess, whether in the form of magical and technological advancements or that of culture and art. I often wonder what would have became of it when they inevitably came into regular contact with surface civilizations."
"That is an amusing notion," Caelidorus said softly, tail flicking. "That would certainly make her appear more attractive to younglings. For whatever reason, hatchlings seem to love playing and rolling about in fields of flowers."
"Then it very well may be delayed until further in the future," Forlirn stated, gazing off at the horizon. "Soul may not allow the ritual until you have thought on it at great length. It is not a matter she takes lightly."
