Ryder

Hmpf. Boring. ” Ryder dismissed the quarrians without a second look. With that wimpy resolve, they weren’t worth his time anyway. Whatever the case, he was tired of pointless distractions – he was ready to rip the stupid computer out of the wall, finally answering his age old question; did computers scream?

But first, he had a smaller problem to deal with…

GIRL! HERE! NOW! ” Ryder demanded. After a short pause, he found no signs of the girl named Annie. Bewildered, he continued, “ Wait, where did she run off to? ARGH. Well, SCREW HER.

--

The group walked through the facility, with Ryder maintaining a distance from the others. He was evidentially seething off some frustrations regarding his absentee protégé. His head crossed to the side, he avoided eye contact with the group so as to seem disassociated with the squid head and sexual assistance mech. He just wasn’t into such things, you understand.

As Morenth reached for the sphere, Ryder was content to just watch as the Asari tried to force the object open. Arms crossed and stony faced, it wasn’t like he was going to help; it really wasn’t his problem. Opening the thing was her prerogative, though if she wanted some help, he could always just detonate her biotic field. The thought brought a grin to his lips. Later, perhaps.

Wrench. Can’t you get the thing open any faster? ” Ryder demanded in a manner of charasmatic support only a man of his calibre could think to provide. “ If you’re afraid you’ll chip a nail, you’d make an excellent charge.

London

CUTE?! WHERE! ” London whirled around, all the while reaching for Annie’s hand. Attempted a firm grip so as to sweep Annie away, she continued, “ Come on, that guy you were with, super scary! Let’s get out of here and meet up with my friends!

KITTIES! DID YOU HEAR THAT! ” London positively squee’d as she followed the crowd into the maze.

--

Funnily enough, the mess room of a secret base was hardly the most enthusing place in the world, but such nuances were lost on London. As the students began pulling up chairs, London recited for the umpteenth their favourite thing about zoos.

Did you know… GIRRAFE’S HAVE LONG NECKS?! ” London said. “ And they have spots~! Oh, man, if they have some here, London wants to see! You, too, right Annie?

Annie was so shock what was going on from being a prisoner to an army bace to get food and drinks to going to a hospital and then going home. But she was very confuse by the a soldier just said about the lockdown of the lower levers. She was so happy that she was going home unless these soldiers realize who she was. She was also happy that some of her schoolmates was here with London who grab her hand. She held on to her hand because she knew might lose her in the crowd and nodded what London said but, she knew that he was the only one who can teach her how to control her powers because she doesn't know who else can teach her. She also the knew the soldiers won't allow her to get back to Ryder right now so, she went with the crowd to the cafeteria.

She sat with London and her friends at a table in the cafeteria listening to the conversation about there favorite zoo animals. She still felt very weak, scared, tired, hungry, thirsty from everything that happened to her already. She repiled scared, tried, weak voice," yes, I want to see a giraffe in a zoo when I get home. I want to see the monkeys at the zoo. I can't wait to go home." She felt like she might faint if she didn't eat, drink and sleep.

This place isn't suspicious at all

The girl was no longer around. Good. X7A did not care what Ryder had wanted with her, and only knew that any analysis of the situation had a more favorable outcome without the child in the picture. The willingness to be used that the girl had displayed mixed with the personality of her fellow agent made the situation extremely volatile, and the less volatility that was present, the better. Such things meant deviations from what could be accurately analyzed, and inaccurate analysis was how missions were failed. Add to this the fact that a weak-willed individual would have been in the immediate vicinity of someone that had the ability to control minds, and it was a disaster that just needed the slightest touch to be set off.

The trip inside was entirely uneventful. None of the soldiers did anything to stop them, which was the expectation. If one of them had, it would have been much more serious. The amount decreased as they continued on, which again was something to be expected. The more secure areas of such a place always had less staff, as less inside meant less that could cause problems.

However, the exodus of every soldier that they came across was...strange. Although it wasn't something that merited extreme concern, it was something X7A would have thought they would have known about. There hadn't been any announcements, and they were seeing nobody move inwards to replace those moving outwards. Something seemed to be going on here, something that they were unaware of, and although there was nothing that she did yet it was on her mind that they may be walking into something that was ready for them.

Morinth led them to an area that was clearly not in proper operating shape, and then proceeded to run to the central piece and begin to wrench it open. X7A did not follow, remaining back and near the entrance to the area.

If there was a trap in here, she did not wish to be caught up in it. However, helping open this was something she could do easily, and would not have to move to do so. Choosing two points to either side of the sphere, she created two gravitational centers, each with an effective radius that reached the sphere but did not reach Morinth. Everything in the radius would begin to be pulled towards the centers, either pulling the sides of the sphere back or making it easier for Morinth to do so.

At the same time, X7A withdrew one of her pistols and readied it, preparing to fire at Morinth should she need to. The other was prepared as well, but kept ready for a threat from elsewhere. There was nothing else that registered as a possible threat as of yet, so it made sense to keep one weapon on the possible threat and one ready for the unknown.

Ryder, X7A

X7A noted various occurrences, and overall, the trip was much easier than one would expect. Neither Ryder nor X7A were too close to the sinister spherical object, but X7A provided some help whilst keeping her distance. With Biotics and gravitational fields, the spherical object was cracked open, releasing a brief flurry of sparks, zaps and smoke.

Suddenly, a Biotic explosion erupted from the spherical object, throwing Morinth back several feet. Then, something emerged from the interior of the object, various wires and cables breaking apart.

The entity looked like: (you only need to watch one second)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GHqWmj3ekz0&feature=youtu.be&t=7m52s

Morinth picked herself up while watching the rather lanky entity emerge from her tank, and smirked, but said nothing, looking quite confident despite the situation.

A green aura appeared within the broken device, accompanied by rather loud static. The lighting in the chamber flashed, computers whirred as if struggling, zaps appeared here and there, and then...

London, Annie

Having found her new master and holding hands with it, London was definitely the best choice Annie could make. Only London could truly train Annie to control her excessively vague magical powers, that throw rocks at people. Master and apprentice bonded, they did the most logical thing: they talked about zoo animals.

“If Annie and London want to see monkeys, ya’ll just gotta look in the mirror.” Lance exclaimed, then drank his juice box.

Suddenly, the lights in the cafeteria started flashing. The female Systems Alliance marine looked up.

“What’s up with the lights?” she asked, then put a hand on her helmet to speak in the radio. “Hey, you seein’ this? And where’s the escort? I’m pretty sure we would be able to get these citizens out the base by now.”

Annie felt very comfortable with London and her friends. She laughed at Lance comment as she ate her snack and drank her apple juice. She was felt a little better then before but she was still very tried and weak from everything that happen to her already. She was about to reply to Lance that's when she realize the lights was flashing. It made her very nervous and asked in a nervous, weak voice," what do you think going on with those lights?" -Dances-

That shouldn’t be here

If one looked at the details, this emerging creature did have features that indicated it may once have been an Asari, but whatever it had become was nothing short of the dictionary definition of “abomination”. It seemed strange to X7A that, if this was indeed their target, that she was attacking them with a physical form. Any real AI would never do this, as damage to their core being was something that was much more dangerous to sustain. It made her begin to think that this wasn’t actually their target, but rather a decoy or obstacle placed in their way instead. Genetic abominations were far from uncommon, and a creature that had a tag of “AI” would undoubtedly have the ability to procure some.

Now that Morinth was out of the way, X7A increased the radius and pull of the gravitational fields behind the creature in the attempt to keep it back and also render its mobility as minor as possible. As she did, she re-calibrated the aim with her second pistol - keeping the first one aimed in Morinth’s direction just in case - so that it was pointing at the creature’s torso, and pulled the trigger.

As the bullet left the barrel, X7A’s gravity took effect on it as well. This time, it took the bullet and warped it, the projectile taking a warped singularity form that tore through the air , leaving a lightless streak behind it that pulled on everything around it before disappearing a second later. The projectile itself would strike with hundreds of times the normal force, but would dissipate moments after doing so.

Ryder:

Was this little sideshow supposed to make Ryder feel something? His arms crossed, Ryder took no offensive action towards the creature… or any action, for that matter. Stalwart and unflinching, X7A's attack would be observed by his somewhat bored gaze.

For now, there was no need to take action – the sexbot would do an adequate job of testing the waters. That wasn’t to say he wasn’t ready to take action if a situation arose; after all, if a fight could be trusted to a mere sexbot, he wouldn’t be necessary.

Annie, London

Annie exclaimed about the flashing lights. A second later, all the lighting suddenly died, leaving everyone in darkness. The female Systems Alliance marine’s omni-tool appeared, casting light and being a flashlight, essentially.

“What the hell is going on?” she asked in her radio, and after some static, she simply walked away, leaving the dark cafeteria.

“Aw, I was so close to winning...” the Turian janitor remarked, his iPad dark, and seemed to have died along with the lights from something.

Whatever abomination the creature was, it clearly did not look friendly, and Inferi yet again decoded the thread master’s plot, remaining a few steps ahead that could not go unnoticed. Nevertheless, X7A amplified her power, the gravitational pull slowing down the creature’s movement. One pistol aimed at Morinth and another at the monster, X7A fired at the creature, greatly amplifying the bullet.

While Ryder remained inactive, X7A’s bullet pierced the creature, passing clean through her, or it. The creature staggered, bluish liquid oozing out her chest. She then leaned forwards and tilted her head back, mandibles wide open, the thing screeching madly while extending her arms back, clawed fingers twitching. Her screech was of such force it echoed throughout the chamber and adjacent passages, reverberating eardrums for sure.
