My favourite RuneScape music track is 'Emperor' because when I listen to it, it reminds me of the times I was in Melzar's Maze gathering keys with a friend for the Dragon Slayer quest. We (and RuneScape) have come a long way since then, but playing on f2p and adventuring with real people back in the day will always have a special place in my heart.

RuneScape holds the Guinness World Record for the highest volume of original music tracks (1,202 at the time of writing).

I only see 1201 songs in the music list, and the RuneScape Wikia also mentions only 1201 music tracks, what's number 1202? Hasn't it been released yet?

Does anyone know if they just made a typo or if there is a hidden music track or something like that?

Hard question for sure. Looking back into my playlist I found out that Angel of Death is my favorite.

There are many reasons
First is that this song is in my real life playlist for in my car. That playlist contains songs from Bon Jovi, Queen, Linkin Park etc.

Secondly it is definitely great to listen, not just in the car while driving. Also when doing other games, or board games. It gives te feeling of a big boss fight, making everything more dramatic and herotic.

Based on memories it a good combining of other lovely songs in game that build up to this one. For instance like Yk'lagor the Thunderous, Battle of Souls, Castle Wars etc. All getting you pumped up, but Angel of Death by far the most.

And the name is cool.

When I was a new player in 2005, I was finally getting the courage to venture to this unknown city called Ardougne. Upon entering, I heard "Baroque" for the first time. The multilayered waltz with the haunting melody caught my attention and became my favorite Runescape song that I still love 12 years later. Several years of playing and replaying "Baroque" thousands of times while enjoying my Runescape adventures, I discovered the piano sheet music for it and decided to share it with some of my piano students who were looking for new and interesting pieces to learn. They not only learned to play a wonderful song that I love but they also got to hear about the enchanting world it came from.

Track: Newbie Melody

Why: Back to the roots! Everyone's a noob at some point in their RS Adventure timeline, and it's a great reminder to be humble, and to be helpful for all those newbies out there. Also, adds some spice by throwing nostalgia in!

You’ve ventured past the Legend’s Guild numerous times. What is there to say about the Guild? The guard is as cold and hard as the fence that surrounds the estate. The squat main building is far from the most imposing piece of architecture you’ve seen, and the gray stoneworks only enhances its drab facade. The weathered wooden doors stood out like a sore thumb, marked in a patchwork of canyonous scars.

You’ve peeked into the main hall of the Guild in your younger years, pushing your gaze past cloudy panes of glass to find a darkened room devoid of activity and sound. The honor of entering the Guild’s decrepit halls was beyond your nascent understanding.

Today is different. Today, you’re different. Today, you no longer look upon the Guild as a precocious adventurer. Today, you enter the Guild as an equal to those that await inside.

Wiping the dampness of Karamjan adventure off your brow, you approach the entrance of the Legend’s Guild. The wrought iron gates swing open and the guard greets you with a smile. The smooth metal bars ease in behind you like an intimate embrace as you step into the courtyard. The main building towers over you, draping you in its impressive shadow. The masonry shines like marble as it reflects beams of sunlight into a effervescent corona. An ancient wooden door stands before you, smoothed by the passage of time and Legends. You notice the tapestry of lines immortalized in the grains of lacquered wood and realize that each impression belonged to a hero that preceded you.

You’re greeted by the admiration of your peers as you push past the heavy door. Your presence ignites a powder keg of activity. Your friends, each one Legends in their own right, clap in rhythm and chant your name. You feel a half dozen hands lift you into the air and parade you around the room. You swear that the hall is the loudest and busiest place in Gielinor.

You’re set down in front of Radimus Erkle, the Headmaster of the Legend’s Guild. Your handlers respectfully take a step back and the hall falls silent. A smile cuts through Radimus’ wrinkled visage as he congratulates you on the success of your initiation. Placing his hand upon your shoulder, Radimus welcomes you as the Guild’s newest Legend. Roars of celebration tear through the hall. Joy and pride ignites within you, igniting every one of your nerves with an electric current.

You hear a triumphant chorus of brass urged onwards by beats of percussion. As the ensemble is greeted by a violin’s melody, you come to realize that the piece is about you. You are the brass, steady and pervasive, driven forward by a percussive march of righteous duty. Each note represents an adventure that lead you to where you are today. Memories of your first adventure, a task that involved a inattentive chef and a cake, floods your mind. You reflect on every step you’ve taken since then. From Sheep Shearer, to Imp Catcher, to Dragon Slayer. From Champion, to Hero, to Legend.

This was not a journey you’ve accomplished without the support of your friends. As if echoing your thoughts, the melody crescendos before beginning anew, with woodwinds and brass joining the violin in its musical journey. The melody is more triumphant with each iteration, building, growing, and swelling, seemingly mirroring your accomplishments and the allies you found along the way.

You have an epiphany. Being a Legend isn’t the end of your story. Gielinor is a world of unlimited possibilities. There are lost cities to explore, history to make, and (murder) mysteries to solve. The Legend’s Guild is only the beginning. This music never has to end.

You see two words that encapsulates this moment in time. These two words illustrates the prestige of this illustrious guild and how it elevates its members. These two words justifies why your friends have come to celebrate. These two words praises your accomplishments. These two words challenges you to be the best version of yourself. These two words are the only two words that matches the composition you just heard.

What are those two words?

“Arise Legend”

Apologies for length lol.

There are so many great songs in Runescape, so it's hard to pick just one as a favourite, so I have a few (x My reply is slightly late so I hope it still gets read >.<

Personally my absolute favourite has to be
'Guthix's Hunter'
. It definitly evokes a special memory because when I was younger I would be playing fist of guthix every day when I came home from school. Even though I wasn't particularly good at it I still loved it so much :D

My second favourite has to be
'Angel of Death'
, it's just the rush of adrenaline you get while listening to this song that makes it amazing. You feel like you're fighting against a really difficult boss (which is very true!) It really adds to the fight and makes it so much more enjoyable. Two other honerable mentions for this same genre go to
'Shattered Worlds VII'
and
'Zamorak Zoo'
too c:

And lastly I'd like to say
'DCII Mash-up (Infinity Mix)'
too, from the Halloween event in 2011. It's actually the very song that got me into EDM at that time, which I still love to this day. I actually went back to the place a few times, while the event lasted, just to listen to the song. (I was a cute noob so I didn't exactly know how the music player worked yet :3) I'd like to thank Jagex for introducing me to this music genre because it's pretty awesome.

There are times where I play Runescape with my music off but for some things like Angel of Death it's so awesome. More people should pay attention to the music because some real effort has put into it. I could go on about this for a while but you guys need to read all applications and I don't want to be too much of a burden almost hitting the character cap anyway >.<

Thanks for your time and (hopefully) see you soon ^.~
