Didn't mean to write a novel =/
TLDR-Village Fate may be my favorite but only if played through the Shatter Worlds I track.

Runescape music is easily one of my favorite things about the whole game and it's just impossible to narrow it down to a single track. The nostalgia of Adventure and Newbie Melody are hard to beat, along with several more per skill that remind me of training. Altar Ego for runecrafting or Tune from the Dune for agility to name a couple. The vocals in Book of 1000 Songs and Wending Through the Willows always make me stop what I'm doing and listen while I find some perfectly placed tracks equally epic such as Army of Darkness for the cutscene with Arrav or All's Fairy in Love and War when going to zanaris because you can just feel the difference in the type of adventure you're having! I even play some of the softer tracks while I sleep, Baroque or Saltwater are a few I find that soothing. Not to mention the countless speedy tracks to pump you up when training gets dull, Busy Night is perfect for this. So how do I truly pick a favorite?

Well, I'm one of those players that "quits" for months or even a year but always ends up coming back for more. I love finding new songs that go along with old ones, and when I actively look for a new track it's for one of two things, a new one to fall asleep to, or one to make training more lively. With this in mind, I come to a clear two-way tie... Village Fate has helped me sleep countless nights so it gets top rank, and clearly at least inspired by village fate is Shatter Worlds I, which has to be given top rank for being able to keep me clicking long after I thought I was done. :)

My favorite soundtrack was always "Alternative Root".

I just always felt that this song sums up Runescape so well, even-more-so than the title theme.

When I listen to this song and close my eyes, I feel like I'm floating in a grand expanse that holds all possible paths for me to choose from that will define my adventure in Gielinor.

It evokes the sense of mystery, the fact that I don't know what lies in front of me, which truly makes for an epic adventure.

There's also that sense of excitement that it elicits that any fellow adventurer can relate to when embarking on their runescape journey.

I also always loved that this soundtrack has a brother and sister called "The Route of All Evil" and "The Route of the Problem", which the former I've always thought served as the song that you hear when you've reached the final boss of your journey. The latter serves as the in between, symbolizing the actual journey, and I think the rhythm and tune do just that. Just the three soundtracks put together really create a "completeness" that is really satisfying and I think defines what runescape is in so many ways, an epic journey that is made meaningful when you travel the world of Gielinor with others.

It is for these reasons that "Alternative Root" is my favorite track.
Gielinor, you say? I thought this was Araluen...

Now, my favourites are dependant on what is counted as a 'sound track' as there are multiple unlisted pieces of music in the game such as a few ambient inside Daemonheim, and some of them are really good.

I would have to say my favourite Listed track is 'Tuska' - The build the track has at the beginning is amazingly crafted. It definitely encapsulates the state that Gielinor was in during the world event. The way that the environment and the music went hand in hand is just phenomenal.

My favourite unlisted would have to be the ambience for the Furnished theme in Daemonheim. Again, like Tuska; the environment and the music go hand in hand.

Furthermore, my favourite Old School RuneScape piece of music is 'Mor Ul Rek' - It is rather complex for what is considered an Old School RuneScape track, but is amazingly crafted. It fantastically goes with the environment and the TzHaar race.

Sea Shanty 2 is my favorite track. This track inspired me to take computer science classes at university and now I work at a top tech company. During my exams, I would study with this track playing in the background. While I would take my exams, if I was stuck on a problem, I would hum this tune and I'd remember an algorithm to help me solve the question.

Thanks for writing this track.

My favorite song has got to be Norse Code

I remember reading about the isles when I was trying to get my Neitz Helm. In the trivia section it mentioned Norse Code was a pun on Morse Code and actually contained a secret message spelling R-U-N-E-S-C-A-P-E played by the fief. This led to my fascination of hidden secrets, puzzles, and messages in things!

It's the small things that amazing me and this little secret shaped a lot of my hobbies outside of Runescape!

Citharede Reqiuem. I just remember chasing the "demon" down the halls with Korasi's sword thinking to myself "once I catch this thing, it's gonna get special attacked in the dome." After the fact, I listened to the song again and just imagined the scenario if it were a full cinematic instead of gameplay.

The scenario plays out like it did before at the start, but it would change when my character tried to hit the "demon" in the head. Instead, my character would use the special attack on Korasi's sword to try and take the head clean off, they would duck out of the way, causing the attack to destroy the dresser behind the dummy, and run up the stairs while my character would give chase. When the "demon" reached the closed gate where the troubadours lay in wait on the far side, my character would attempt another special attack but the "demon" would jump on the gate and climb just before the attack would connect, putting a large dent in the gate. After that, the "demon" follows the normal path, up to the bell tower, after the "demon" grabbed Sister Debora, my character would kick the bell mechanism and continue the chase. The bell would ring just as we reached the roof, and Sister Debora would punch the "demon" revealing it to be Sister Anna and that's about where the song and scene would end because otherwise it wouldn't keep pace.

It's quite literally the only song in RuneScape where I not only remember what I was doing when I first heard it, but I actually added upon it myself because of what I was wearing when I did one piercing note. Back then we always brought our melee equipment when attempting new quests since we never got warnings about when combat was about to happen. Now I'm just getting Nostalgic.

Side note, my actual favorite song related to RuneScape would be Planet Hell, both because of the original joke and because the return of the gods has sorta made the song very appropriate.
