its has to be the original login screen music that was what first got me into playing Runescape and it still gives me the chills now bringing back the days of grinding out skills with friends.
Vicous
My favourite track would have to be the original main theme ‘theme Scapebold)
I believe this track represents the evolution and transformation of this game to its simple combat system and graphics to what it is now. As a player who have played and ‘rage quit’ this game so many times since the beginning, I remember hearing this theme in the login page with its ‘electronic music’ version and having hear it now being recorded by a full sized orchestra brings back a lot of memories from the past. It almost felt like The game too grew up with me!
No doubt there are a lot of amazingly written newer composed pieces but nothing has a stronger connection with all its players who have heard the music in the login page! Just like how the great film compositions by John Williams always made it easy for people to identify the movie based on just hearing a few measures into the Music, anyone who played runescape before would immediately be able to identify the game upon hearing 10 - 20 seconds of this track.
And Guess what, after rage quiting so many times, I’m still here! You can never quit this game but can only go on to grow with it!
I know that I'm not likely to win the trip to Abbey Road, but I'd still like to share my favorite song currently on Runescape.
Although newer songs
-
like the revised Runescape themes, Gregorovic's theme, and the Priddinas music
-
are all amazing, the theme
Stealing Creation
, for the minigame of the same name will always be my favorite.
Of course, Newbie Melody, Sea Shanty 2, and others, all insight intense nostalgia, I played
Stealing Creation
, and heard its song, at a pivotal moment in my life when I started to comprehend how the game worked at its mechanical level; started developing my account with a clear direction; started to love the game truly for what it is.
Back when the Runescape was primarily comprised of MIDI soundtracks, the thematic power of its songs were limited, yet
Stealing Creation
seemed to surpass those limitations and inspired me more than a MIDI song should. Since joining Runescape nearly 14 years ago, I have achieved the max cape, as well as the Master Quest Cape (2 tasks away from regaining it), and run a small Youtube channel dedicated to Runescape content.
This game has changed my life, and all of its music is incredible. But, for me,
Stealing Creation
will forever be my favorite, with others like Castle Wars following close behind. Regardless who you choose as this contests winners, thank you Jagex team for giving us, the players, an opportunity to voice our opinion and visit you guys in the UK.
Take care, and God bless.
Sincerely,

I would have to go with Hell's Bells as my favorite. I remember when RS2 came out it was one of the first pieces of music I heard. It got stuck in my head for such a long time. I still listen to it every so often.
My favorite will always be the original "Newbie Melody." Every time I hear it, I remember my 14 year old self playing on the computer in my grandparents basement. My grandfather played rpg games like Ever-Quest, so we bonded a bit over me explaining Runescape. He's passed away now, but every time I hear that song I remember playing the game with him watching. That song has become synonymous with good memories of him, so thank you for that!
My favourite RuneScape track is Barbarianism. I spent many countless hours in the area getting my first 99, fishing, whilst f2p. Before achieving my first 99, I remember listening to the track before I would dive into the crevices and I would kill as many cockroaches, zombies, catablepons and flesh crawlers as I liked.
My favourite track is "Angel of Death". Nex and Vindicta share Zaros' theme melody which shows their great loyalty towards him. But the track I chose does not have this melody which gives me the feeling that Nex is not just a mindless beast that follows her lord. It shows that Nex strives to exceed her current power and grows stronger. This music is about her as herself and not just a follower of Zaros.
THIS SONG THOOOOO!!!!
I love it because if i'm doing a scary task, or something a bit boring like grinding for that precious XP it makes it HILARIOUS.
It's so great running through the Wilderness and playing that song.
ALSO there's a song called 'Pinball wizard' by The Who so that makes it 10x funnier.
