It sure has potential, but this should be a minigame with high rewards instead of a skill.
Comparable to dungeoneering, no levels, just chaotics.
Would love to see pirate gear rewards ;)

Not sure if this has already been said. Didn* want to read 88 pages

Really like the idea this new content! Looking forward to further info :P

One thing though:
I really would NOT be thrilled if it included PvP, especially if that would become part of any diary or any cape requirement :| - Hope you'll keep PvP out of it!

For a moment I was wondering if this could really be true, sailing having the name of never making it into real content ^^

Edit:
If PvP is not going to be a requirement for anything in any way, I could live with it though, I'm sure there are people who would like it :)

Its sad how many people say no to Sailing without even understanding what is being offered.

Many seem to think sailing would just be travelling from Port Sarim to Catherby or Karamja or other places they have already been, and don't realize it would open up entire new lands, resources, Slayer monsters, PVP, adventures, and exploration.

I hope if Jagex polls Sailing they make sure the people voting know what they are voting for or against. If a person thinks Sailing is just jumping on a ship and travelling to somewhere they have already been, or just a new form of transportation slower than Teleporting, then no wonder so many are saying no.

Sailing potentially opens up new islands, new continents, new resources, new monsters, new weapons and armour, new herbs new foods, new uses for existing skills, and new types of combat and ever changing adventures where you don't know what you will find each time you venture out or what island resources you might find.

The first poll question on Sailing should be to make sure players understand what sailing really offers, and not let players vote yes or no until they get the first questions right on what Sailing will be like.

I completely agree with you. There needs to be a test players need to get 100% passing on before they are allowed to vote yes or no.
Proof of this is just reading the posts in this thread. Most of the people saying no aren't even reading the post and are even getting some information wrong on why they say no when the post literally says the opposite of what they think.

Id you read the post, it answers you. There's a wilderness section you can CHOOSE to go to, just like there's the wildnerness itself you can CHOOSE to go to. If you don't want to go to it, you don't have to.

I can't see how people can't like this!

Seriously this is the most exiting thing since I started playing this game and got my first iron armor made for me by my cousin.

Going out adventuring, finding random items, just chilling around with a cup of coffee and your new ship enjoying the calmness of the seas in RuneScape.

This is a dream come true, if people can't see how nice a skill this is they lack creative imagination. Seriously, you can build your own freaking ship, this is like dungeoneering and construction on steroids.

Imagine being able to smith your own cannon for your own ship... When you see another ship you gotta load up the cannon, reminds me of Eve Online. If you're a pro sailor you might be able to off a team just by yourself, your cannons and your ship.

You have my vote! This skill will be the resurrection of the nostalgic RuneScape feel.
