Sailing would be a nice Skill.

Some Features I would love in it ::

* We Should Be able to unearth Treasure Chests, and Find Some Ancient Treaurs buried deeper in the Sea, Items Should be Very Rare. Higher the Sailing Level would give higher the chance to go Deeper and Stay there longer.

*Higher the Sailing Level would Allow the Ship to Go UnderWater(yes,as an Submarine).
With each gaining 10 LEvels, the submarine Nature of Ship becomes Stronger, and hence making the Ship Powerfull

* Maximum Player should be 25 at 90+ Level.

*T.T Chests should be Buried in Sea Bed. Easy to Elite, would totally depends on Mining + Strength + Sailing Level To get a Higher Tier Chest.

*Combat XP should be given to only those who are indulged in Combat Related Part, Crewmembers Doing odd jobs like repairing or navigating shouldn't recieve any Combat related XP

**Alongside of SAiling Skill, I believe Dark Magic Skill should be Released which would help in making Sailing more powerfull., Dark Magic Skil would come with 5-6 quets, allowing us to use more powerful Dark Arts BASED Magic Wands..., Which could Do spells like ::
.Teleporting to Co-ordiantes(which the player must have visited once)
. Would unlock a new Spell, which could be used to Corrupt Various things on RuneScape to make them more powerfull
. Would Unlock Various Continuse Attacking Spell dealing nice 5-5-7-10 Damage within the matter of Seconds.

*Sailing Skill AT Higher Level would Allow players to Sail on the Major Rivers in the big Cities.

*** Above All there should be a new Lunar Spell, after Dream Mentor, which would allow us to Capture the defeated Ship into Bottles.

**The Treasure Chest on Each ship, which will Hold a certain amount of Money(20% of what a Player is actually risking while being on ship), can only be looted as per as oneself's Chest..,
Like my ships's Treasure chest is at 100M, so I should be allowed to loot only 100M of Opponents 250M.

* if The Treasure Chest is Released, it Would Allow us to Risk 200M gear, and Instead of Losing it we can just Place money In our coffers, which can be looted by opponents on Defeating us.

* Sea should be Divided into Wilderness Levels, which would allow any1 to attack according to the their team's Average Sailing Level., This Would keep Powerful Ships away from attacking the new Ships.

*If that New Lunar Spell is Released ppl should be Allowed to buy their Ship from the NPC for a certain Amount.., and only The Captin of the Ship should be allowed to Capture Ships into Bottle, and by Admiral if Captin is dead, and fails to reach back to his ship.

*There Should be a Huge Antena which could be TeleBlocked, and hence the Ship Couldn't be teleported anywhere(Supposing you will release DARK MAGIC SKILL)

:) Best I could ADvice

Ancient Magicks has a spell called Blood Barrrage, is that not dark enough?

I like the direction of this though, I think magic does have some room for expansion.

Come on guys... Zeah needs to be polled again but more importantly actually started. I feel Jagex is crowding their plate with projects lately to expend their obviously increased budget. I wish Jagex would focus in and give us regular updates showing progress rather than more promises that will get voted away.

Im not 100% against Sailing but Dungeoneering or Summoning actually does sound better.

I miss RS 2011 LOL

As a community in the past i'm almost positive most of us wanted this skill to happen.
Now everyone is turning around saying "oh i would rather have Dung or Summoning"... They are trying to avoid making the same mistakes in the past, dung gave people a unfair advantage over others with the chaotic weapons. Along with Summoning the Titans, etc.

Why don't we have a clean slate? This could be a experience we've all wanted, maybe they'll branch out with new islands to explore, unseen NPC's, new loot, endless new things we have never seen before. This is like telling Christopher Columbus to accept what land they already had. No, it's time to move forward. I support this idea 100%. ^_^

I'm not for this update, I started playing Old School cause I liked the game the way it was, sometimes we have to stop changing/updating things...

I just think jagex should consider the fact many players play this cause it's nostalgic, making actual new content in this scale seems to big for and >OLD< School game. I'd rather see a new server pop up (which let you copy your current stats if you want) with sailing included and keep the OSRS game the way it is. I don't mind the new bosses and smaller content, but the demand of old school rs comming back the way it was is what made it come back, don't go and ruin it again please.

Btw, I've been playing since 2005 and don't want to see it turn out like RS3 again ..

My vote is a No :(

I do like the idea of the sailing skill, but this should have been interpreted into RS3 instead of OSRS, simply because RS3 is the main game, where all the "major" developments should occur.

OSRS should only include a number of RS3 features which the community agrees with, not completely new ideas which have not been tried and tested yet. I think this is why some people are asking for dungeoneering/summoning to be interpreted into OSRS; the community know what to expect from these skills, whereas with sailing, no-one knows exactly how this will affect the game as a whole. I think it is very risky to throw sailing right into the mix of OSRS at this time.

On a separate note, the fact that you can attack other players whilst out exploring the seas, makes me think this is the wilderness on sea. Since this is the case, there should be "safe" areas and "dangerous" areas of ocean to make the skill appeal to more players.
