What would be cool for sailing is having an option to have a crew on your ship. One player in a friends group owns the ship and can assign roles for his other friends as the ship's crew. Together they can all sail together and run into adventures together. For me this sounds like a fantastic change for OSRS.

Also, PvP Sailing sounds like so much fun!

I hope this skill gets reconsidered. Seems quite controversial reading from the comments, some people love the idea and others hate it.

Personally I see it being a great addition to OSRS. It's unique, it's something Runescape 3 doesn't yet have, so it's a unique selling point. It'll likely attract more people back to the game and the idea of having the whole world open to explore is exciting! Like the idea of having a wilderness in the sea. I... am a sheep

I almost cannot believe this is happening. I for one am excited. Thank you Jagex for keeping this game exciting and fun with new content!

EDIT: I just realized this post is from 2015. On one hand, it could be nice to have a new skill. On the other, I appreciate OSRS for it's nostalgia. The further it drifts from the original 2007 scape, the more it is changed. But I feel the changes have been a GREAT thing so far. Keep it up Jagex! Keep it fun!

What a joke this is. This skill has been the talk for almost 2 decades now. Before construction even came out everyone thought it was going too be sailing. Please tell me wtf sailing would benefit to a game that has piss poor quality looking water. What am i gonna look at a map and its gonna sail me somewhere? Yall reallly do be wasting your time on the stupidest crap. What is it with these large scale companies doing the stupidest shit when they have better stuff worry about. You literally have a PVP crisis and you are worried about a new skill? A GARBAGE ass skill. Thats not even a skill, thats an activity. A skill, is more like how to fix a boat, not how to drive it.
