Seems you dont have much imagnination since you think that way :p

I can think of many ways to have activities in sailing, such as training methods for existing skills.

Examples:

-snip-

And the list can go on forever on all the possibilities ;)
Well said. The possibilities for this skill could be endless.

I completely agree, sailing can open up many things that have been left unanswered. Like the rs gods for example, maybe throughout sailing we might come across them or we could come across a new quest that involves them, or something else even.

There could be new runes(pr even unlock the altars blood and soul as suggested by somebody), new places, maybe in order to get to zeah you would need to have a good sailing level, kind of like how you need to have a good agility level to get into Isafdar (regicide).

Sailing can make the game more interesting, add some new storyline into the game. And with all of this, the game itself will become more interesting, mysterious, and more big. Thats why i'm voting yes.

I have played RS since 2004 and can remember when people were asking for a sailing skill.
I was skeptical about it then but I have enjoyed a lot of the things that are being done a little differently with OSRS.
After reading the Dev Blog, I have to admit there are some aspects that do interest me, especially exploring new areas.
I am wondering though if the PVP aspect can be avoided and yet still train the skill.
No disrespect to any one who enjoys PVP but it's just not my cup of tea.
I don't head into the wild to often for that reason.
If you can't train the skill and avoid the PVP, I would likely not bother with the skill at all.

Why is everybody always so negative about adding a new skill? maybe we should wait judging till they have released the skill. most of you just dont want any change in runescape. but there are alot of other people that would love a skill like sailing. Like me and my friends, we are really interested in sailing and I think we all have to give it a shot. also the ones who are complaining right now about the skill. how bad can it be? there is also an option not to train sailing if you dont want to. I miss dungeoneering since I left eoc and went back to osrs. I think sailing would make a good enough replacement.

Best regards

While the skill may have potential, the PvP component to actually explore the oceans and surrounding areas makes this a resounding no for me. PvP should "never" be a required component of any skill. While there are those who enjoy PvP, many more do not. Your suggested alternative to train, building the ship is a money sink ... why I have no interest in construction.... and extremely repetitive.

I am so sorry but i did not just remake my character in this oldschool version of runescape, and grind all my stats to where they are, for you sillynancies to put some absolutely ridiculous nonsense such as "sailing" in.

put it in rs3 not like anyone cares about that garbage anyway.

I think sailing sounds like a pretty good idea. Its original and seems like it can have some potential if done properly. I am also in favor of summoning so long as it shares nothing in common with modern rs summoning. And for dungeoneering...WORST SKILL EVER not original at all, its just all the other skills crammed into a mini dungeon and its stupid and pointless. Please don't ever do it.
